  1. I'm inclined to disagree. He can't even make it through OTAs. That's a bad sign.
  2. You have to be excited about the defense, but the offensive line is becoming more and more concerning.
  3. I'll never understand why more college kickers don't get a shot.
  4. I'm optimistic but patient. I'm not convinced Darnold is the solution and I'm not thrilled with what we gave up for him. I simply believe we're pretty much the same team wins wise with Darnold or Bridgewater, so the price irked me a bit. That being said I do believe Darnold can turn it around and fix his career here. I just wish the offensive line was better for him to do so. I think the defense is going to be solidly middle of the road this year barring serious injuries and the Panthers will have around a 7 win season. Year 3 will be when we can really break out.
  5. Billionaires in general. They're the biggest welfare queens in the country by miles. If you have that money you don't need Government handouts. We can use that money to fix bridges, water pipes, and pay teachers and firefighters. Building that stadium through his own money would be a drop in the bucket to Tepper.
  6. It's not about what the city wants, it's about what the billionaire wants. If he wants a new stadium he'll have no qualms about threatening to leave without a new one until the tax payer coughs the money over for the new digs.
  7. I think Darnold will do okay for the first half of the season. I think the last stretch is what will really test him, and the fan bases loyalty to the guy. You could really argue that from the New England game on in week 9, the Panthers face a fairly tough test through the air each week outside of the Falcons in week 14.
  8. Why are you afraid to answer. You keep telling me that QBR speaks the truth. If Tannehill was the worse QB of the two, because QBR is a perfect system, then that means Ryan Mallet was a better QB than Cam Newton in 2015. I don't understand why you're so reluctant to affirm what you've been dragging on about for pages now.
  9. Was Cam Newton a worse QB than Ryan Mallet in 2015, yes or no?
  10. But QBR routinely fails at what it sets out to do, which is exactly my point. Why is Ryan Mallet rated as higher than the NFL MVP in 2015? Why is Lamar Jackson considered a great QB why Tom Brady shows up in the Top10 once?
  11. And my issue isn't with them giving it. It's using it to say that one QB is better than the other when the stats don't tell that same story.
  12. No it is with you. You're using a stat that is clearly not working as intended, to prove your point. Ryan Mallet wasn't better than all of those QBs in 2015, yet that's what you're arguing.
  13. Actually it's not really a mystery. Tannehill was hurt that season. He played in less games, and had to come out of a few.
  14. Always nice to see a billionaire tell the city they're going to fit most of the bill for his brand new stadium.
  15. Since Charlie Batch's amazing performance, things have changed a bit. Lamar Jackson had 4 of the Top10 QBR performances of all time to Tom Brady's 1. And as a Louisville Cardinal fan, I fully support the belief that Lamar Jackson is already 4 times better than Tom Brady.
  16. If we compare apples to apples. Had both QBs thrown the same number of passes Tannehill would have had 2,980 yards. But feel free to dig into TDs, TOs, completion %, wins, losses, etc. You seem to keep avoiding these topics over and over and over again.
  17. So you're telling me that Ryan Mallet was a better QB than Cam Newton Andrew Luck Matthew Stafford Joe Flacco Nick Foles Sam Bradford in 2015? You're telling me that Charlie Batch had the best QB game of all time in 2010?
  18. I think it's yet to be seen if he'll be running for his life. Our left side is a huge question mark still. And you also have to factor in that the QB makes adjustments to the protection at the line of scrimmage. So we'll have to see what the difference is between Teddy and Sam there and what effect it will have. Although, Sam should a lot better choices to block and chip than Teddy did outside of just who lines up on the offensive line.
  19. Yes, QBR is excellent which is why Ryan Mallet has had a better career than Cam Newton, and Andrew Luck. It's also why Charlie Batch is considered to have had the single greatest game from a QB of all time in the game that we all know is so famous now from the year that it happened. You know the one.
  20. No my beef isn't with ESPN at all. I don't think QBR is a great stat because of what we're talking about right here. Ryan Tannehill outplayed Sam Darnold by a noticeable margin, and he rated Tannehill as the worst QB. When you look at the numbers, Tannehill's low QBR is even an outlier by his previous stats and QBR. Frankly, it doesn't make sense for his QBR to be that low. I mean, how about this from In 2015 from QBR Ryan Fitzpatrick > Tom Brady Tyrod Taylor > Ben Roethlisberger Jay Cutler > Philip Rivers Brian Hoyer > Russel Wilson Ryan Mallet > Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, Joe Flacco, Nick Foles, Sam Bradford The 4th best QBR game of 2015 went to Teddy Bridgewater who went 14/18 for 153 yards and 1 TD The best QBR of all time at this point was Charlie Batch in 2010 with a stat line of: 12/17 186 yards, 3 TDs, and 2INTs
  21. I'll take the QB with better stats and win loss record with the worst QBR in the league over the guy with worst stats and a better QBR with a worse win loss record. Between the two, that year, Tannehill is the clear winner. He protected the ball, and did far more on far less attempts than Darnold did.
  22. I'd agree there. I'm fairly convinced Horn is going to be a stud, but outside of that I think the jury is out on the rest of the CBs. I think we'll get a serviceable #2 between Jackson and Bouye, but I'm not as comfortable saying that we'll have both a #2 and a Nickle that I'd be comfortable starting against most of the teams we'll see this year.
  23. And if we go by Passer Rating? INTs? YPA? TDPA? TOPA? Completion %? 7-9 Dolphins vs 4-12 Jets? The evidence is stacked against you. You're losing this argument. A QB can have a passer rating of 158.3, which is perfect, and still have a 39.0 QBR. This case is a perfect example of this. All the numbers tell you Tannehill had the better year by every possible measurement except for ESPN's convoluted QBR metric.
  24. That's basically what will make or break him. If he can not press it will go along way to preventing mistakes and giving him a nice base to grow from.
