Rookie LTs are pretty much never elite regardless of where they’re drafted. It takes time to get the hang of the position in the big leagues. If Icky can even be average this year, which I think he can, it’s a huge upgrade for us.

Yeah I think this is the most likely scenario, DJ will probably be the only wideout playing anywhere near 100% of the snaps with the others being more of a rotation. Shi will see some outside reps but Robbie 2nd on the team in playing time. Shi/Higgins will both see a fair amount in the slot. I think there’s a chance Shi is our return man, but Roberts was signed for that reason and until/unless we see him cut I think it’s his job with Shi being the backup option there.

Shi has looked like a game breaking talent at times, may have been the best player for us on O outside of McCaffrey in the Pats practices. Maybe I’m being influenced by he sour taste Robbie left for us last season but I would not rule out Shi earning a huge role in our offense. Yes probably more likely to start in the slot but don’t be surprised if his horizons are higher than that...

I'm guessing this is for our "starting" slot WR spot not outside opposite DJ, although from what I've seen he is making a real push to start across from DJ over Robbie in 2 wideout sets. He's been really good this offseason.

He played more LB last year, my guess is he would be LB depth and it makes sense. Either way there's a reason he's on the streets, he ain't getting any guaranteed playing time regardless of the position, just a back of the roster move.

There's plenty of players better and more exciting than him on the Raiders though. Carr, Adams, Waller, Jones...

I think he just posted a picture of himself that he liked, it happens to be our team in the background but sounds like it means nothing. I'd like him as depth though, he's a hard nosed player but injuries have hampered his explosiveness.

I mean he's not wrong, 21 different teams last year started at least 2 QBs, every single team "played" multiple QBs. Granted a couple of those may have been guys sitting out the last game intentionally. But odds are your backup will have to see some time. Still don't understand people getting upset over coachspeak like this.

TMJ has struggled but he's not getting cut. WR locks: DJ, Robbie, Shi, TMJ. Likely: Higgins (chemistry with Baker is there and he's had a solid camp, but I don't think he's 100% a lock). That's 5. We probably keep 6 in which case Zylstra, Kirkwood and Saunders are fighting for the last spot. Wright has looked pretty good but based on rep counts he's headed to the PS. I think Kirkwood nabs the last spot, although Zylstra is a good bet too. Saunders hasn't done much of late and is probably going back to the PS.

I wouldn’t say he was a system CB but leaving us definitely hurt his career. He fit so well in McD and Rivera’s defense, was still solid in Washington just not quite as good. Also he was elite in his playing time in 2014 so more of a 2 season wonder. Still one of my favorite all time Panthers despite the shorter tenure, loved watching that guy play.

Locks: DJ, Robbie, TMJ, Shi Higgins is likely making the roster. If we keep a 6th I agree Kirkwood is probably the guy although Zylstra has looked pretty solid lately too. Saunders was reportedly having a good camp but has been invisible lately. No one else stands out as having any chance of making the roster. Really happy for Kirkwood if he does make it, after the injury last year's training camp his odds of sticking around were looking slim.
