  1. Over one of the defensive guys that will inevitably fall further than expected, like Landon Collins or Shaq?
  2. I'm just certain there will be defensive players higher up on our board than any WR outside of the top 3. Strong was a consensus mid 2nd rounder before the combine. The combine doesn't change Gettleman's rankings. Strong ran fast at the combine, but his game speed is not that fast. Gurley is still a risky pick with RB being devalued around the league and coming off an injury. I could see DG taking Strong if we don't sign Jennings but not if we do. Guess we'll just have to see what happens.
  3. When's he gonna be done with his physical and put the ink to the paper?
  4. He'll fall to the 2nd. Not to us though.
  5. Maybe in the second, if he falls. If we sign Jennings I'm 90% sure we'd pick a defensive player in the 1st. Unless a top tackle like Collins falls or one of the top 3 wideouts falls I don't see us going offense at all. I truly think there's no way we go Gurley. DG wants guys in the first who can contribute and have an impact immediately. Gurley wouldn't, behind Stewart and coming off the injury. Would be ecstatic with him in the 2nd.
  6. Pretty sure he's looking for an environment that's good for his family, not really money at this point. Charlotte's a perfect place. I bet he'd be willing to come in here on a team friendly deal to be a mentor and leader as the #2 WR with Cam throwing him the ball AND probably a chance at a Super Bowl.
  7. If we sign Jennings, we're not taking a wideout the 1st. Get that through your head.
  8. Jennings would be a fantastic #2 with KB as #1. He put up those numbers last year and the year before with sh*t QB play and literally being the only receiving threat on the field, drawing double coverage. Vikings fans across the board were shocked and upset when he was cut. And he won't count towards any comp picks we could get from Hardy walking (and the 3rd rounder Bell will get us.....).
  9. I'm not very high on Nicks but you truly believe Cotchery is better than Nicks? That's absolutely outrageous. Nicks may end up being paid more and not be worth how much he gets paid, but to say he's worse than Cotch is ridiculous.
  10. He said it 3 times already how do you not get it? Does he have to repeat it a fourth time?
  11. Bene got burned deep by Seattle's receiver in the playoffs (I believe it was Kearse) because he didn't have the speed to keep up with him. He played like an elite nickel corner last year. He was solid on the outside (not nearly as good as Norman was) but not as good as he was at nickel. I think this signing is just to allow us to put Bene in the slot when we're in nickel packages and have Ball line up outside across from Norman. Would be an upgrade from Norman, Bene outside, and Colin Jones in the slot. I anticipate Norman and Bene will be the guys out there when we've got 3 backers.
  12. So, Ray Farmer and Gettleman are both equal GMs right now, because you can't have any opinion at all on a GM after two years (or in Farmer's case, 1 year)? Interesting. God damn I want to meet you face to face right now and lay into your sad little ass and teach you something about life. Good talking to you, friend.
  13. Fantastic mindset. Agree with my or your opinion doesn't matter.
  14. We need to lock up Norman this offseason before he shows out next year and demand top 5 CB money.
  15. Wow you can cite 3 late round picks that didn't work out, 2 of which were because of injuries which is completely out of Gettleman's control. Gettleman must have absolutely no clue what he's doing and should be fired immediately.
  16. Would be very very far from my favorite pick but I won't be mad at whatever decision DG makes. He knows what he's doing.
  17. Don't like the $2M. Should've gotten $3M over 2 years. Could be a solid signing, and I'm guessing this will put Bene back to nickel.
  18. I had those questions as well but after watching all of 2013 over, he was dominant in every single game. He may very well be the best run-defending DE in the league. The sacks came in spurts, but he was getting double teamed nearly every play. I don't necessarily think we would've had a much better record with Hardy (probably somewhere around 10-6), but his absence definitely had a huge effect on us. By the time our young guys came around at the end of the year, if we had Hardy I honestly think we could've been legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Seattle game was a 1 score game into the 4th quarter and with Hardy, Wilson doesn't have any of those 3rd down touchdowns he had. I understand letting him go because of financial reasons, but I will be really fuging pissed if it comes out that his contract is 1 year $4M-$6M or somewhere around that. We could easily afford that (and he may even take less here, as he's made it known he wanted to stay a Panthers) and we could contend for a Super Bowl with him for sure next year. I honestly think we have a solid chance without him, so with him I'd have been really confident. Oh well. What could've been. Hope Ealy can show out and maybe Frank can get it together as well.
  19. Not really that we're afraid (or at least I'm not, I can't speak for the other idiots around here), more that we like Hardy as a player and don't want to have to root against him playing for a division rival. I'm completely fine with him going to the Cowboys even though we play them this year and next year (and possibly, maybe even likely, in the playoffs) because I actually like them more than a lot of other NFC teams, and would be fine with them having success if it doesn't affect us at all. I'd be pissed if he went to the Seahawks because I hate them and of course I wouldn't want him on a division rival. I'd rather he be on some AFC team who I'm completely indifferent to, like the Raiders, Jags, Ravens, etc. Pretty much any AFC team except the Patriots. But I'm fine with playing him this year and next with him in Dallas.
  20. Bucs being used to drive up price, Cowboys will sign him.
  21. Drew's gotta be using the Bucs as leverage. They wouldn't sign him and he wouldn't sign with them, without a meeting first. Pretty sure he's unofficially a Cowboy for sure.
  22. He's made it clear he won't play for them and his cap hit is outrageously high as it is. More importantly, Zimmer said on record that they'd comply with Peterson's wishes. Unless he changes his mind and wants to stay with them, he'll be cut.
  23. 1st, 2nd, 3rd every year for the next 5 years and I wouldn't hang up the phone. But I wouldn't necessarily accept it either.
