A few teams with openings may be interested but no I do not think half the league would be firing people just to have a chance at him. That is absurd. He's done pretty well with Detroit but they've also had arguably the most offensive talent in the league the last couple years and Campbell's offensive acumen is overlooked and certainly plays a large part in their success. He's not just a meathead hype/rah rah guy. Worked closely with Sean Payton in NO as assistant HC and surely brought a lot of that with him to Detroit.

I'm not saying a team would give up more than that for Horn right now, just that there's no point in us trading him for that little of a return. The difference with Young and Horn is that Horn when healthy has shown he can be an elite #1 corner. Chase when healthy (which is only slightly more than Horn) has shown he's at best a rotational pass rusher. Obviously Jeudy is a bust and Bryce hasn't shown anything either. Horn and Otah are good comparisons, neither are like the other names mentioned. They are great players when on the field but can't stay healthy. Honestly Horn isn't that much different than McCaffrey his last few years here, we traded him and have now been kicking ourselves for it ever since. Except Horn is at one of the most valuable positions in the league and McCaffrey one of the least.

Chase Young is absolutely worthless. Pro bowl means nothing considering half the league makes it by the time everyone drops out. That defensive rookie class was atrocious and he won it on name recognition and draft position alone. His career pace is 6 sacks per season and he has also missed significant time. It's very telling the skins couldn't get more than a very late 3rd (either last or 2nd to last in the round) for him.

Horn has enough potential when healthy that a measly 3rd isn't a big enough return to make it worth it. And worth noting Jeudy has a cap hit $7M more than Horn so good luck signing free agents when wasting cap like that on a scrub. I decline Horn's 5th year option but keep him this year and plan to get him on a bridge deal after that or if he dominates this year without missing time, tag and keep or trade him for a bigger return.

wouldn't lump in Horn with those others. Bryce, Jerry, Chase all have shown absolutely nothing at all on the field. Horn at least when healthy is pretty dominant.

Why was there no way that could happen? Terry Pegula bought the Bills in 2014 after they hadn't made the playoffs since 1999. They made the playoffs in 2017 and now every year since 2019 have been contenders. The Panthers under Tepper have only gotten worse and worse each year. And it's ultimately all on him, there is no context that takes the blame off of him. He's made poor decision after poor decision, has had no patience and by many reports is an arrogant unlikeable douche in the team workplace. Maybe he'll somehow turn it around at some point but this is by far the worst the team has ever been and it's all been under his leadership. Other potential owners absolutely could've done way better. The Bills were in no better shape in 2014 than we were in 2018 when the respective sales happened. I'd argue they were in worse shape. And Pegula got them turned around quickly.

I just can't bring myself to invest any time in learning about Canales or any other coaching staff, front office hires, etc. I'll follow camp news a bit and watch come preseason and regular season and hope he does well but otherwise it's just hard to get all that interested in this team. fug tepper for ruining it for us

I wonder what the results would've been if Tepper had set Rhule up for success from day one of him being hired. Rhule had to deal with the clusterfugs that were Hurney and Fitterer and constant power struggles and tepper involving himself in everything. Look, I'm no fan of Rhule and he definitely sucked, just saying we don't know how much of that was him sucking or the organization being a dumpster fire because of Tepper. After the way things played out I tend to lean more towards the latter. I doubt Dan Campbell would have had any success here the last several years if we had hired him instead of the Lions.

Maybe the first month of his first season some people will tune in for brady, but after that nobody is tuning in to watch what he has to say either

also starting to think we may have judged Rhule a bit too prematurely as well... he's definitely a douche but I think if given time and legit trust from ownership to put his vision and plan into place he could've had success on the field here. We actually saw it a bit when Wilks took over and we started winning, that was very much a team that Rhule built. Don't get me wrong I'm glad Rhule and Reich are both gone but despite having their own issues I think Tepper's meddling didn't allow either of them to have any chance of success.
