  1. We don’t have enough cap space and picks to address every need this year, and this need isn’t as large as others. With that said, I’d throw a cheap contract at Vander Esch and a back up contract at Carter. See what comes of it. My other option is Darnold for Parsons straight up. I’m sure Dallas would be more than happy. lol
  2. I feel some of your pain, but 30 other teams made the same decision to pass on him long after pick #34.
  3. Let’s ignore a wasted draft pick from last year and focus on celebrating the return of the GOAT long snapper. Glad he’s back!
  4. PFF graded him at 76.1 for the season. That would be second only to Moton (76.6) on our team. I knows PFF isn’t the whole picture, but he’s young enough and improving so I’d be comfortable securing his services for a multi-year contract and considering that guard spot secure.
  5. I guess we’ll have to see what kind of deal he gets this off-season. Could always build in significant bonuses if he starts a certain # of games and we make playoffs. I trust Samir would get that right.
  6. Why did his agent let him sign for 2.5mil last year? Do they think he’ll suddenly land a $10mil+ gig this year? I don’t think so. He’ll be seeking a cheap, prove it deal and I hope we’re the ones to give it to him within reason.
  7. Disagree for us. 4 mil is easily worth never having to watch PJ or Will Grier type backups. For him, I never expected he would have signed last year for $2.5mil. Why would he not like a 60% raise. If he turned out to be our starter, by the end of his contract he’s still young enough to get paid. Worth pursuing imo.
  8. I don’t think you want to use Cam’s recent stats.
  9. What’s the downside for the Panthers in bringing Trubisky in for 4 years, $16 mil? Secure a great backup QB at minimum.
  10. I disagree. How many losses does Cam need to rack up for some to believe he’s done? He is a short yardage/red zone threat only at this point.
  11. You’re brilliant. It’s about improving our team. You bring in Trubisky because he’d be the best QB option on our roster.
  12. James Daniels & Connor Williams Starters next year… BC/Williams/Elf/Daniels/Moton Use draft over the next two years to replace Elf. Can move Daniels to Center if we find another guard.
  13. Except Trubisky was a winner at QB and there was tangible improvement in their offense when he played vs Foles/Fields.
  14. Do you think Trubisky is better than Darnold?
  15. Blah blah. He had a horrible coach and no talent around him. Look at their success with Trubisky vs without under Nagy. Also, we have a good defense too.
  16. Trubisky won with Nagy and little help on offense. He can be a mid tier starter in the league. More likely bottom third starter caliber which is better than what we have currently. Just to confirm your thoughts though, I’d be thrilled if we draft OL Marcus McKethan in the 5th or later.
  17. You pointed out nothing. Here, let me try to help the discussion on why I think your assumption is wrong…. I don’t think Wilson has a stronger arm than Howell. I don’t think Lance is more accurate than Howell. While his running style isn’t aesthetically pleasing, he proved to be a more effective runner than both. Hes built to withstand a beating which pairs well with our Oline. So what exactly does he lack physically compared to those two? Straight line speed? Height?
  18. I said the very same thing last year. No reason we weren’t the option for Trubisky. We were set up perfect to bring him in and still are. Others disagreed, but I’d sign him right now for 4-5 years at 4-5 mil per year. Worst case, we have a tremendous upgrade at backup QB. Best case, we’re in the playoffs and he’s already proven he can win.
  19. Feel free to inform me on how Lance and Wilson are such superior QBs to Howell. The fact that ppl are down on Howell and we could possibly get him in the 2nd is exciting to me.
  20. Great athlete =/= successful QB. I have doubts about his accuracy. We’ll know more next year about him. Howell has a rocket arm too. I agree he doesn’t have the charisma of Wilson.
  21. I think Sam has better arm talent than both. I believe Sam has a stronger arm than Wilson and every bit as accurate. I like Wilson’s ability to navigate in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield better. I think Sam will be more accurate than Lance. I also think Sam will be a threat in short yardage situations with his legs. He’s built similar to a fullback. My main concern is his feet and did the terrible talent around him last year teach him some bad habits with progressions.
  22. I hear the scouts and huddlers, but give me Sam Howell over Zach Wilson and Trey Lance.
