  1. Panthers run defense has entered the building.
  2. Yeah, should've gone for the FG when points are hard to come by in this game.
  3. Am I watching Panthers vs Panthers here or something?
  4. We seemingly couldn't figure out how to use Chinn here. We tried keeping Luvu but he chose Washington over us.
  5. Watching it on Twitch on my end because it was further ahead than on Amazon. Well, at least it was last Thursday.
  6. I still remember how thrilled I was when we drafted him. The only blemish in his history here is convincing us to bring in his brother, Matt.
  7. Going back to Dalton oddly feels more like a bad gamble now. 1 in 5 odds you get a Raiders statline. Otherwise, it's old guy throwing ill-advised passes who only breaks 200 yards by throwing it 40+ times, meaning your coach forgot he has Chuba Hubbard.
  8. I don't recall if I had a different avatar when I first came here, but I've kept the current one forever, even back in the old Huddle. No real reason other than utter laziness.
  9. Texans are having their own issues protecting their QB this year. In fact, Stroud is right behind Caleb as the most sacked QB so far this year. No surprise, fans want Texans OC Slowik out just like the Bears canned Waldron.
  10. That's always going to happen from time to time. You just can't have that be the norm. I'm still miffed we didn't go for one of the centers last draft because that was a missed opportunity having a rookie getting the benefit of being sandwiched between two guys who know what they're doing. Makes me wonder why Miami didn't try harder in keeping him, especially when they have a QB with concussion issues.
  11. I think it's more of Bryce starting to gain confidence in that the line is no longer the absolute sieve from the interior that it was last year. He can actually follow through on fundamentals without a guy coming right at his face. Makes the tackles look better because their QB isn't drifting back as much. Again, money well spent because interior pressure, regardless of QB, is the most consistent way of sabotaging any NFL offense. Should be obvious but the fastest way of getting to the QB/RB is a straight line. As a painful reminder, double A gap blitz in the Super Bowl.
  12. Here's a far-fetched dream. A few years from now, Thomas Davis Sr. goes up to the podium on draft day and announces that his son is going to be a Panther.
  13. Even if attitude isn't an issue, they better hope he can at least produce on the field soon. Funny enough, he gets a revenge game against the Steelers this week. I still think Diontae being here did provide some value in that, yes, someone like him adds value to this offense in terms of explosive plays. That needs replacing.
  14. I'm just surprised I still remembered it. I've been here way too long.
  15. I still feel trading Diontae was the right call, but it does leave a hole. I like the promise of XL/Coker but I don't see either as the fast shifty guys that can get open underneath quickly and get a lot of YAC afterwards. There is promise that if we could get guys like Coker for basically nothing, then we can do the same next draft, so that we can use valuable draft capital elsewhere.
  16. Investment in the O-line should be a no-brainer for any NFL team, especially on the interior to deny defenders the shortest path to blow up a play. The fact the money we spent generated results should come as no surprise. Best part is that we can likely keep this foundation going for a while. Still, probably best to always try and find an Ugly or two in the draft. Having good depth is critical, as is finding newer and cheaper replacements. I love Moton but I feel he'll be far too much money to keep around after 2026.
  17. I suppose the one thing Brown has going for him is prior experience with a rookie QB behind a seemingly bad O-line. Then again, he didn't exactly fare much better here either. If it remains a sackfest, options are reallly limited.
  18. Nobody wants to hold onto the ball tonight.
  19. Dolphins really need this game. There's a path to a wildcard because their division is so bad and they have games against the Browns and Raiders.
  20. Tommy Jone strikes again! If there's any upside, Brock Purdy just had it and he seems to be about where he was before.
  21. If I had to bet money, Canales getting a mid-round prospect he likes is the most likely option. Ditch Dalton and have BY start the season until the new guy is ready. If we are really lucky, then we find a Russell Wilson and BY still has value as backup. Ah, I see now. Daniel Jones is getting benched so Drew Lock's going to get a chance. That's actually not the best scenario since he'll either stink and we won't want him, or play well enough for the Giants to keep him or he'll demand too large of a contract for a new team which he'll get because the FA market stinks.
  22. We all have the list of FA QB's for 2025; it's not very good. We are also likely not in a position to grab a QB high in the upcoming draft and/or Canales may not think any of them are really his guy. In that case, one really needs to get the most value of what's already here. We have BY under contract for two more years. Dalton is going to be an additional cost to keep. There has to be enough about Dalton to justify keeping him around in some capacity.
  23. A lot of this is gamesmanship. Of course Canales is going to keep his opponent guessing, even though it may not matter that much. The Dalton comment tells me there's an open question on whether he's worth re-signing. Frankly, the best role he can serve given his age is to play within himself and not commit major mistakes. In other words, keep the seat warm until we eventually find a better guy. Even in that Raiders game, he got really lucky with some passes not being picked. Then his play was hurting us to the point in which Canales didn't immediately throw him back in last Sunday. For all we know, Canales wants to see if BY could at least be good enough that we don't need Dalton back as a backup anymore. Then bring in his own guy.
  24. Possibly but we've thrown other random guys out there with little tape and that didn't help us one bit.
