Looks like we’ll be the 5th seed and take on Orlando in a best of 3.

Svech, time to get on the board against the Blues.

Another good team win with everyone contributing. Defense looks really good this year. Even the Tampa score doesn’t reflect how good the defense played that game.

I felt like our fourth line had a good chance to be really good this year. They are already living up to expectations and then some.

If we get a healthy season out of Mark we’ll be in good shape. I feel like the starters will be Ball, Green (3&D), Miller, Bridges, and Mark with a combination of Mann, Martin, Salaun, Grant, and Richards off the bench. Curry, Gibson, and Smith will probably just be depth players. Simpson, Johnson, and Diabate will probably be in the G-League. I’m not sure what Micic’s role will be because he really seems to want to be in Denver. Giles, Jeffries, and Brown probably don’t have a place on the roster.

Agree, I don’t quite understand it. I wonder if it’s just one of those Jay Wright/Roy Williams situations where he just doesn’t like where college basketball is headed and can’t fully invest in it anymore.

Technically we have 3 spots open. Stillman is listed on the Canes website but he’s technically on the injured non roster list. Both Lemieux and Ryan are now in Chicago which leaves the Canes with 20 players (no extras). Our projected deadline cap space is now $6.6M which is more than enough to get a top six guy with some term if we want. I doubt we’ll go for a rental but with a bunch of cap space being freed up next year the Canes can acquire someone with term at the deadline and fit him into next years team as well.

Ryan re-assigned to Chicago, Lemieux on waivers with the purpose of getting him to Chicago. Once healthy the Hurricanes will look like this: Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis Roslovic - Kotkaniemi - Necas Martinook - Staal - Carrier Blake - Drury - Robinson Slavin - Burns Orlov - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Stillman Kochetkov Andersen LTIR - Fast

We’ll need to have everyone going in order to win this year, but I do feel like so far the team defense is stronger. The forwards are doing a great job back-checking. I also wouldn’t be totally shocked to see Blake work his way up the lineup. I’m not sure if he can play on the left but maybe something like this: Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis Blake - Roslovic - Necas Martinook - Staal - Carrier Robinson - Kotkaniemi - Drury

Trimble looks really good, EC had his moments, everyone else has a long way to go.

Vets look great, all the new guys not so much.

If Carolina gets this Seth Trimble this year then they are gonna be a dangerous team. Up 14 with no R.J. and next to nothing from the freshmen. Been impressed with Elliott, Trimble, and J-Wash but the freshmen, Tyson and Lubin have a ways to go.

They got their footing now and playing without R.J. is huge. Memphis is no pushover either, they are picked to finish second in the AAC.
