  1. What about NCSU… they usually get left out so they are probably used to it.
  2. Funny enough… the Lions are still losing games… and it ain’t because of their offense. On the contrary, the Panthers are also losing games… and ain’t because of their defense.
  3. Air raid QB’s have at least found some success… Patrick Mahomes and occasionally Kyler Murray…. While that’s not a glowing list, it’s two more QB’s than a base RPO offense has put in the NFL.
  4. I personally don’t like Corral either… he’s another QB out of an offensive scheme that uses RPO as their base. RPO is fine in moderation but you can’t run it 100% of the time, NFL defenses will figure it out. Will Anderson very well could be elite. Unfortunately elite defenses rarely win Super Bowl’s anymore… elite QB play on the other hand does. I’ve seen enough from Stroud that I’m sold on him… I get it, he comes from OSU… just so we are on the same page here… I need everyone to tell me what school’s we can draft QB’s from, I didn’t know there was a factory that we should be pulling from.
  5. Lol, after watching Hugh Freeze and Liberty give Hartman fits, I can say emphatically that, that would be a mistake. Hartman is a college QB through and through, the same way Brennan Armstrong is. Wake’s entire scheme is based on a delayed mesh point out of the RPO. They will hold the mesh point longer than any team at the college level forcing the secondary to cover as long as possible… usually, one of their better receivers like A.T. Perry will eventually become open because college DB’s simply aren’t good enough to cover for 5+ seconds. That’s not working in the NFL when you have three seconds to throw the ball. And before the argument is made about Stroud’s receivers… they get open because they are flat out good, not because OSU runs some hybrid, unconventional, college offense.
  6. Okay, so even if you want to make the argument that the Sun Belt is an improving conference, which I don’t disagree with, that doesn’t necessarily factor in the type of offense that McCall is running. I’m tired of college QB’s who primarily run RPO and Coastal’s not only has the RPO foundation but the triple-option foundation as well… NFL defenses are getting much smarter and in my opinion you need a QB that has elite accuracy from at the very least, a semi-traditional offense… outside of an offensive system like Army’s… Coastal’s is about as collegesque as you can get.
  7. I can’t wait until someone tells me that those receivers were wide open…
  8. He actually threw down the field a lot last year as well but the schemes are such that his receivers get open with ease… it’s kind of similar to Wake Forest’s delayed mesh which allows wide receivers to eventually gain separation.
  9. I’ve watched Coastal plenty of times… and yes what they do is entirely based off the triple-option. https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-grayson-mccall-coastal-carolina-triple-option-offense-2020 I’m not saying that he’s not good at what he does. I’m saying that I don’t want anything to do with a G5 QB running a heavy RPO/Triple-Option scheme. It looked like Corral was going to need a full season to get accustomed to an NFL playbook and he ran RPO at an SEC school against quality defenses… McCall is doing it against Sun Belt teams…
  10. So this is cool… All the current tight ends representing old Panther tight ends on National Tight End day.
  11. This isn’t a shot against the OP because I feel like everyone just looks at the numbers, but when is the last time a triple-option QB had success in the NFL… If Corral’s red flag was that he came from an RPO offense then a fugging stop sign needs to be put up for McCall as Coastal’s basic offensive principles come from the triple-option.
  12. That’s found money really, a random guy you picked up on a one year deal and then you turned him into a draft pick… good job by the FO.
  13. Looks like we might be trying to move Anderson… Henry Anderson.
  14. For your viewing pleasure… some elite throws in there against one of the better defenses in college football.
  15. It was TLT and I don’t think we’ll see him again, he keeps getting banned lol.
  16. Per Elliotte Friedman, The Ethan Bear saga will be resolved soon via a trade or by placing Bear on waivers, according to reports, Carolina will not retain salary on any trade involving Bear.
  17. For real… I mean the kid just put up 4TD’s against a defense that had only allowed 5 offensive TD’s all year… some people are just dumb.
  18. The fact that he’s already hurt his shoulder is a red flag… surely Panther fans know a thing or two about QB’s and bum shoulders. Young didn’t look near as accurate last night and from a statistical standpoint, his 60% completion % was the worst he’s had all year when playing a full game… and it’s not like Mississippi State has some juggernaut of a defense… most of their defensive rankings are in the 60’s… maybe the shoulder is affecting his accuracy and if that’s the case… I don’t want anything to do with him… there’s no point in drafting a QB at #1 who already has a history of shoulder injuries.
  19. There’s a couple of factors to take into the yards per separation… 1. Ohio State’s OL is elite and they give Stroud ALL DAY to throw the ball, because of that, OSU runs a ton of deep routes. 2. Because OSU runs a ton of deep routes, their wide outs will ultimately create more separation, the longer the route and the longer the overall time of the play, the more likely it is that separation will occur… college DB’s just aren’t good enough to consistently cover for long periods of time. 3. The result is that Stroud’s adjusted yards per attempt is 13.0 yards per attempt, the second highest total since 1956. Also… let’s cut the crap about Alabama playing with inferior players, since Saban took over, they’ve recruited better than any team in college football. As far as SOS… Alabama’s is 1 and OSU’s is 13th… not some massive gap.
  20. The hiatus between playing Vancouver and New York (Islanders) is going to suck.
  21. Bruh… please learn to read… How McCaffrey was used as a Panther is irrelevant, he won’t be used the same as a Niner… do you want him to coach himself? Additionally, Jimmy is 16th in attempts that are 30+ yards down the field and that’s while playing less games… hardly near the bottom… everything you’ve said is made up… what isn’t made up is Deebo’s ADOT… 5 yards lol.
  22. Exactly… it’s not our fugging fault that Calgary can’t get the puck out of their own zone for half a minute.
  23. I need RBA to accept that there is an issue and bring in a PP coach that’s outside of the organization… not being able to enter the zone properly for 4 straight minutes is unacceptable.
