  1. One of us at the very least worked for a college football team and one of the coaches on that staff is now with the Panthers… furthermore many of the coaches on that staff had NFL playing or coaching experience… not one of them was ever given control over personnel decisions… while that wasn’t the NFL by any stretch… I’d take my experience over your opinion any day. It has always been a formality that head coaches have the ultimate control over the roster and they dictate who starts… while else would you even need a head coach? I mean congratulations, you listed one position coach in the entire history of the NFL that may or may not have had control over their positional group. I could not verify it, so please feel free to send me a link. In the meantime, maybe you should look up an NFL head coach’s responsibilities, roster and personnel decisions will be at the top of the list. Nice back peddle, no where did I say that Campen didn’t have input. I explicitly stated he did. But Rhule makes the ultimate call… that’s why in his press conference, he didn’t say, let me get with Campen and discuss… no, he flat out said who the starters were and who he’s been impressed with (Erving)… jog my memory, who are the current starters? Also, did Erving make the team? Sure seems like HC Matt Rhule doesn’t have to defer to anyone. Hell, this article (https://www.nfl.com/_amp/panthers-owner-david-tepper-expected-to-be-patient-with-head-coach-matt-rhule-as) was just posted a couple of days ago and reiterates the fact that Rhule was given full control over the roster… you think that Rhule has full control over the roster yet he doesn’t pick who starts? Get a grip.
  2. That’s assume that Campen is making the decisions… when in reality… history tells us that position coaches don’t set the starting lineup. You’re opinion isn’t based on anything at all as where mine is coming from 1) the head coach giving an interview a month ago and telling us what the starting lineup would be while also praising Cam Erving (maybe go look that interview up) and 2) the widely accepted fact that head coaches set their lineups. Campen isn’t even the associate head coach like he was in Cleveland, just the OL coach.
  3. Did you formulate your opinion on some sort of facts? It would be unheard of for a positional coach to have full control over who starts in his position group. In August, Matt Rhule did a press conference where he outlined the starters, do you think he was just regurgitating what Campen told him? The more likely scenario is that Campen has input but the ultimate decision is up to Rhule and Rhule has decided to go with Elflein. Meanwhile, Bozeman, who graded out as one of the top 15 centers in the league last year, is sitting on the bench. So by your argument, the argument that stated that Christensen and Corbett make Elflein look better than he actually is… Bozeman would also look better playing beside Christensen and Corbett… one again, using your argument… the Panthers could potentially have a top 10 center sitting on the bench… and I’ll tell you right now… it’s isn’t because of Campen.
  4. Don’t be surprised if Williams rides the pine this year, sounds like Clifford absolutely loves Nick Richards, already stated that he’s the backup center.
  5. Just so we are on the same page, do you think Campen sets the starting OL? Or Rhule?
  6. Wasn’t mythical at all, you do this nonsense every day… A freshmen psychology major could sit here and write a 10 page paper about your inability to formulate valid arguments. You made a nice initial step in stating that Christensen and Corbett make Elflein look much better than he actually is… now tell everyone what they want to hear… is it possible that Bozeman is better than Elflein and the coaching staff has it wrong? After all, Bozeman has historically performed better than Elflein.
  7. Do you think Bozeman could potentially look better than Elflein?
  8. See the thing about you is that you straddle the fence because for some reason picking a side or maybe the result of picking a side and potentially being wrong… it eats at you. It’s a message board so you don’t have to take it so seriously, but it doesn’t take a psychologist to realize that you certainly had a more positive reaction to Elflein’s overall grade and a negative reaction to his grade against the Saints.
  9. Well you seemed fairly happy with Elflein’s overall rating… why aren’t you content with his grade against the Saints?
  10. Bruhhh… weren’t you just in the Elflein thread stating that people only like PFF when it fits their agenda?
  11. I’ve never been to a Canes preseason game, but I’d figure if you are going to go then tomorrow is probably as good a time as any since it looks like the vets are going to play tomorrow.
  12. Well poo, looks like an actual hurricane has postponed a game for the Hurricanes… no game on Wednesday due to Ian. Games on Tuesday and Thursday, not sure what they’ll do about the make up game.
  13. Yeah… props to Phil Snow for not dropping Burns back in coverage today… but I take my props back for continuing to play Chinn at safety.
  14. That’s basically what Rhule said in the PC, even on the TD, he wasn’t Baker’s first read per Rhule.
  15. He did but in order for that to happen, KK would need to flop. I personally feel like our success rides on his and Kotkaniemi’s growth. We know what we are getting with Turbo, Aho, and Svech; and I think Jarvis makes a massive leap this year. I think Stastny will fill in seamlessly for Nino and along with Staal and Fast, they will form a good checking line. As for the fourth line, I think it will be elite. In my opinion, Drury and Kase could each put up 15 goals this year and Stepan, Marty, and potentially Noesen are all good options for the final spot on that fourth line. A lot is going to ride on KK being able to seamlessly fill in for Trocheck and Necas becoming a 60 point player. Once we get Patches back though… team could be unstoppable.
  16. Love seeing the Bucs lose because of an absolute inexcusable penalty… how do you get a delay of game on a two point conversion… that call should be in as soon as you score the TD.
  17. Surprised Robby didn’t drop the ball handing it to Rhule.
  18. That’s not what keeps a coach around, if it was, Rivera would still be here.
  19. Think this is pretty spot on and is backed up by what Rhule stated in regards to the TD. According to Rhule, Shenault was not Baker’s first read on the TD, he was check down.
  20. You could have hated on everyone for the Browns game… only player that didn’t look like complete ass in that game was Woods (in my opinion).
  21. Almost went to the Bucs/Packers game today to lend Green Bay some extra support but it appears they didn’t need it… Rodgers is dealing.
  22. Similarly to another Auburn DT (Nick Fairley), it’s just taken Brown a little longer to adapt to the NFL game. Unfortunately for Fairley, his big heart ended his career. I’d be interested in seeing Brown and McCall get more time together.
  23. I think it’s fairly clear that he’s an average corner that occasionally makes a really nice play. The disappointment comes from hearing all the reports of him locking Moore down in practice… but at this point, I think it’s obvious that it was all a result of McAdoo and our inept offense, not necessarily Henderson.
