I think that’s why a lot of people are skeptical of Stroud but in my opinion, they are two completely different people. Stroud has elite accuracy while having a lightning fast release and when he scrambles he keeps his eyes downfield. His arm talent is also ridiculous, some of the windows that he can fit the ball into are insane. I think his game will translate to the NFL because he does everything at an insane pace. Fields made the comment about the NFL being too slow for him but in reality I think it’s too fast. He doesn’t process the game quick enough in my opinion and his release is subpar. Fields just seems like an average QB to me as where Stroud seems like he could be a legit Justin Herbert type of player. I’d like to see Stroud use his legs more but OSU might be telling him to stay in the pocket, similar to what Oregon told Herbert.

Official Canes Off-season Thread
MillionDollarCam replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Rumors circulating that the Canucks are circling back on Bear. However, now that we have him signed, I’d give him a chance to see if he can get back to his form in Edmonton (legit top 4D). Though, if the Nucks wanted to trade a struggling prospect like Hoglander, I’d probably do that. -
I wouldn’t include Ryan and Holcomb simply because they crossed paths with Rhule during his one year with the Giants. In reality, both of those guys have had more NFL success than Rhule, and Holcomb had some success under Rivera. But yeah, the rest of those college guys are Rhule guys through and through.

We improved the staff, so WTF is going on?
MillionDollarCam replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Definitely think this is an underrated factor. Beyond the on field issues with the staff, it sounds like there are a ton of riffs in the locker room that’s causing a lot of disfunction. -
I’d go with Campen. He has previous experience as he was the associate head coach for Cleveland in 2019 and in-game wise he probably has the least amount of responsibility out of the other mentioned candidates, so it would make it easier for him to step into a managerial role. If Rhule is fired then Snow would likely be headed out with him. Wilks would need to step into Snow’s role and revamp the defense and I’m sure McAdoo would want to change some things on offense as Rhule likely has his finger prints on that as well. Campen would just be responsible for game management while Wilks and McAdoo ran their units how they see fit. Tabor is another solid choice but I wouldn’t necessarily want my special teams coach also juggling head coaching duties in a close game when special teams potentially has to win you said game. It could be a recipe for chaos.

Sign me up for that job.

I truly believe that as well. I’d actually even be interested in seeing Campen elevated to interim head coach as he was previously the associate head coach back in 2019 for Cleveland and letting Wilks run the defense his way and McAdoo run the offense his way. All Campen has to do is manage the game and keep track of timeouts while letting Wilks and McAdoo run their sides of the ball how they see fit.

Ol’ SingleMalt looks like he’s had one too many malts today.
-
You might have missed the quote but in Rhule’s PC, he was asked why we didn’t see Higgins or TMJ. He answered that we didn’t need to make changes, we just needed to keep battling. That is a dinosaur way of thinking in my opinion and it’s a major issue with this staff. I get they’ve spent all week game planning and they want to make that game plan work, but too often than not, today’s NFL coaches wait entirely too long to make adjustments and in Rhule’s case, he doesn’t make them at all.
-
Players do have to step up, after all, I can’t blame Rhule for Hubbard fumbling and for Shi Smith dropping passes… but I can certainly blame him for not making changes. Without any sort of changes by the staff, the Panthers had a chance to win today’s game. Just imagine if the Panthers coaches didn’t put Hubbard on kick returns, or if Rhule gave TMJ or Higgins a chance, or if McAdoo didn’t abandon the run in the red zone, or if Snow didn’t drop Burns back into coverage every third down, etc… These players can only be as good as the situation they are put in and as of right now they are being put in shitty situations.

Tally of Everyone Who Believed in Rhule
MillionDollarCam replied to PantherNation123's topic in Carolina Panthers
This thread provided 10 minutes of comic relief from what was an otherwise shitty day for Panthers fans. For those involved in making this thread happen… thank you. -
If he gets pulled, which at this point he shouldn’t because this team isn’t making the playoffs so there’s really not a better situation for him to learn in, then Christensen would be the LT. If Rhule trots Cam Erving out on to that field then Mayfield should have him arrested for attempted murder.

Gifs to represent our feelings on the Panthers right now.

Sell the team. This team is f*cking garbage.

Navarro also has a football background, his dad was the head coach at Princeton University. All in all, Navarro was the obvious choice, from his athletic background, to his Carolina roots, and his philanthropy… yet the NFL pulled a Deshaun Watson and forced themselves and David Tepper up on us. -

Did anyone think they’d miss Mr. Richardson?
MillionDollarCam replied to TNPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well you won’t get any argument from me in regards to that, a lot of that old money has a very old way of thinking. -

Donald Sterling stayed out of the headlines too, didn’t make him any less racist. The most despicable acts usually happen in silence. And just because “all” the NFL owners are supposedly bad doesn’t mean the NFL or fans should put up with that poo. -

Too early to talk about the draft?
MillionDollarCam replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Stroud for me, from a statistical point of view, he has a slight edge in accuracy over Young and I think he has the better arm talent. My only knock on Stroud is that I wish he’d use his legs a little more. -
Think we’ve all kind of just had it lol.

That’s kind of been my philosophy as well.
