MillionDollarCam replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Everyone is more than welcome to join me for one of the games in Florida should we get out of the next round. -
I’ll also mention that former Cane, Patrick Dwyer is an assistant coach for the Wolves.
-
We are not, the only players above that are not property of the Canes are Ivan Lodnia (on a Wolves contract), Richard Panik (on loan from the New York Islanders), and David Gust (on a Wolves contract). Additional Wolves players that are not property of the Canes include Griffin Mendel (Wolves contract), Chris Bigras (Wolves contract), Stefanos Lekkas (Wolves contract), Dylan Wells (Wolves contract), and Kyle Marino (Wolves contract) Additional Wolves players that are property of the Canes include Jalen Chatfield, Ryan Suzuki, David Cotton, Ronan Seeley, Noel Gunler, Tarmo Reunanen, Jesper Sellgren, Eetu Makiniemi, and Sam Miletic. The Canes also have Blake Murray and Beck Warm in Norfolk. The remainder of the Canes prospects are with their respective junior teams or playing in the NCAA, Russia, Finland, Sweden, etc.

While the Canes advanced in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night, the Chicago Wolves advanced in the Calder Cup Playoffs tonight. They swept the Rockford IceHogs three games to zero and will now take on the Milwaukee Admirals. The Canes deep system and prospects have allowed the Wolves to be extremely successful this year. Wolves Playoff Stats: Andrew Poturalski - 1 goal, 4 assists Jack Drury - 2 goals, 2 assists Stefan Noesen - 2 goals, 2 assists Joey Keane - 4 assists C.J. Smith - 2 goals, 1 assist Josh Leivo - 1 goal, 2 assists David Gust - 1 goal, 2 assists Stelio Mattheos - 1 goal, 1 assist Richard Panik - 2 assists Vasili Ponomarev - 1 goal Max Lajoie - 1 goal Cavan Fitzgerald - 1 goal Ivan Lodnia - 1 goal Jamieson Rees - 1 assist Spencer Smallman - 1 assist Josh Jacobs - 1 assist Alex Lyon - 3 Wins, .939 sv%, 1.33 GAA Hopefully both the Canes and Wolves can bring hardware home this year.

Pittsburgh ties it on the PP, if NYR doesn’t stay out of the box they will lose this game. -

Five games sounds about right. Shesterkin is good for one game where he steals one and Pittsburgh is good for benefiting from the officiating for one game. Six games would be the absolute max. Neither one of these teams can take us to seven. Neither also has the ability to take Aho out of the series like Boston did. At the end of the day, Bergeron is still a 4x Selke winner and did a good job on Aho. Both the Rangers and Penguins should be concerned that Carolina won the series while not getting their very best from their 1C. -

Well that was a hell of a sequence… Shesterkin makes a couple of solid saves and then the Rangers come the other way on a 2 on 1 which results in a Kreider goal. 1-0 New York -

Bold, bold, bold, move by Pittsburgh going with Jarry who hasn’t played since mid-April. I guess they don’t have another option though considering Domingue has been average at best and more recently below average. -

I no longer care because I truly believe we are far and away better than both. I would love to play the Rangers just so we can send Adam Fox to the offseason though. -
I’m biased but I also like listening to Greg.

Canes vs Bruins Game 7 HOME ICE 4:30pm Saturday
MillionDollarCam replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
If there was ever any doubt about the ice… the Celtics and Bucks are playing right now and players are slipping all over the floor. The moisture was causing horrible issues with the ice and now it’s causing horrible issues with the floor. Even the announcers pointed it out. -
If the Bucks come back and win this then Portnoy will be on suicide watch… Bruins and Celtics going home all in one weekend… you love to see it.

Looks like Crosby is playing tonight… at the end of the day I don’t really care who we play next, though I would absolutely love to knock Adam Fox out of the playoffs. -
Night and day between Panther and Canes home games
MillionDollarCam replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s not about the attendance, it never has been. It’s about the overall atmosphere. The Panthers were sixth in average attendance last year according to ESPN (not sure I buy those numbers) but more often than not the place was quieter than on a Pentecostal church on a Sunday morning. I think a lot of that has to do with the type of people that go to Panthers games, it’s probably a very similar crowd to that of a UNC basketball game… i.e. the type of people that don’t stand, clap like they are at a golf tournament, and leave before the game is over because God forbid there be traffic. I love both the Panthers and Tar Heels but their game day atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. Fans shouldn’t have to be directed on when they should say “Keep” and when they should say “Pounding”… it makes the fanbase as a whole look like we are unintelligent. -

I get that you can’t compare the Stanley Cup Playoffs to a regular season NFL game but this still doesn’t answer the question as to why do Charlotte FC games sound louder than Panthers games? Charlotte FC is average at best and obviously there are chants and drums but even excluding those two things there still seems to be more noise at those games then at Panthers games (and that’s with half the support). I’ll also mention that Charlotte FC fans have managed to come up with chants with out the big screen telling them when to actually start the chant. Maybe it’s the demographic of people as the Hispanic population has really come out in support of Charlotte FC and the bottom line is that the club would not be successful without them. However, that demographic also isn’t fickle. They are behind the club when they are good and they are behind the club when they are bad… they also stay for the entirety of the game even when the result is no longer in doubt. It doesn’t help that Charlotte is a transplant city but my God this fanbase could use a little rowdiness (even when we suck). It would be nice to go to a game and see people actually standing and yelling (whether it’s good or bad things). When I lived in Charlotte back in the early 2000’s and had season tickets there was a guy that stood up the entire game and just repeatedly screamed, “Fox, Run the Damn Ball”… he probably said it over 20 times a game and it straddled the fence of hilarity but at the end of the day I enjoyed those games even when the Panthers sucked because the fanbase was engaged and was constantly making noise even if it was just boo’s or drunken nonsense. Panthers games now feel like a trip to the dentist. You can’t talk and God forbid you stand up and get a little restless. Our games now remind me of the UNC games that I used to go to around 5 years ago… i.e. would you like some wine with your cheese type of crowd. -

If I had to guess… Colorado/St. Louis and Florida/Tampa starts Tuesday while Carolina/New York or Pittsburgh and Edmonton/Calgary or Dallas starts on Wednesday. Pittsburgh and New York both are in the top three in raw viewership (along with Boston) so they won’t mind giving us the the first Sunday game. Especially since that first Sunday game will either be in Pittsburgh or New York. We’ll have the home games on Wednesday and Friday. -

Tuesday would make sense. Guess it just depends on who they want to put up there first. With all the series’s basically ending at the same time, someone is going to get an extra day of rest. -

Andersen would have beaten the Bruins in 5… he absolutely owns them. 15-3 lifetime against them with a .937. It’s common knowledge that he is Boston’s daddy. As for this next series, it’s Raanta’s net until he loses. I suspect we won’t have a game until Wednesday (maybe Tuesday at the earliest). Raanta will be ready to go by then. -

Hopefully those two teams knock the poo out of each other like they did last year. Tampa isn’t near as strong but they have ol’ Vaseline in net so they’ll probably hang in there.
