If the defense stops contributing then we’re in trouble.

I hate seeing Teravainen wasted on with Staal and Martinook when he’s playing as good as he is.

I want to see: Guentzel - Aho - Jarvis Teravainen - Kuznetsov - Necas Martinook - Staal - Drury Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Noesen

I don’t see anything helping Svech but the press box or 4th line minutes right now. He’s not reading plays, he’s rarely in place to contribute offensively, bad penalties and turnovers, and mediocre defense. Necas is much more of a threat offensively and playing better than Svech right now, he deserves a chance to get it right, I think he needs another feeder though (Teravainen). Svech needs to spend time on the fourth line.

They have been before though, what changed was Guentzel going to Aho’s line.

I’d give Turbo a chance. Necas needs feeders. Kuzy and Turbo should be able to find him.

That second line is not it.

Guys need to learn to not retaliate. You have the full game to get him back… don’t be stupid in the short term.

Why Svech…

It’s a minor miracle that we are doing so good on the road when we play like ass for the first period of nearly every road game.

Time for the second line to get going. Shouldn’t have to wait for a loss to see that they aren’t performing.

No surprise onside kicks and limiting them to the fourth quarter is dumb. Not that we’ve ever benefited from it but some teams have flipped the game before by dribbling the second half kick-off ten yards down the field then recovering the ball.

Leaning toward Kotkaniemi because everyone else you’d think about sitting also can play special teams (Drury - PK, Noesen - PP, Fast - PK). Additionally, for Noesen and Fast, I can pick out things that they are very good at that will be beneficial come playoff time (Fast - forechecking, Noesen - net front). Think it comes down to Drury or KK and Drury gets the nod due to special teams. Though I can see management telling Rod not to sit a guy that we gave a long contract to.

With Svech struggling, Guentzel ended up being a massive pick up. 12 points in 8 games.

ESPN is still profitable for Disney right now and it won’t go anywhere until it’s not. They’ll bring on minority stakeholders, continue doing mass layoffs, etc. They still have their deals with essentially every sports league save the MLS. ESPN may eventually become like CBS Sports but I doubt it truly ever goes away.

Yeah… second line isn’t great. I thought Teravainen looked pretty good last night and even though I don’t like him on the left, I’d give it a go. Give me: Guentzel - Aho - Jarvis Teravainen - Kuznetsov - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Svechnikov - Dury/Kotkaniemi - Noesen Lemieux If there’s a place that Svech might be able to succeed right now, it might be on the fourth line. He’s also had some chemistry with KK before and maybe having a net front presence in Noesen would be beneficial to him.

Just keep getting points and we’ll win the presidents trophy.
