Honestly give me both Vatrano and Duclair for picks and I’ll be happy. Svechnikov - Aho - Vatrano Duclair - Drury - Necas Martinook - Staal - Jarvis Bunting - Teravainen - Fast/Noesen Kotkaniemi
-
If we give up Morrow and a pick for Guentzel and we A) don’t win the Cup or B) he doesn’t re-sign, I’m going to be pissed.

The simulator I use updated after Wake’s loss to GT last night. For the #1 seed, Carolina needs to win or they can lose as long as Wake beats Clemson and Pittsburgh beats NCSU. Any other scenario outside of those favors Duke.
-
Don’t think Zegras is going to get moved, haven’t heard anything on him. I think Vatrano is everyone’s fall back plan. Teams that don’t get Guentzel or Buch will probably go after Vatrano.
-
Personally… I’d move Ponomarev for an extended Guentzel. Nadeau, Blake, Koivunen, and FUS are right on Ponomarev’s tail and we don’t have room for all of them. I definitely wouldn’t move Nikishin in any package and I wouldn’t move Morrow unless he’s indicated that he won’t sign with us. Literally every single defensemen we have will have their contract expire in the next two years. Having Nikishin (in two years) and Morrow (next year) on their ELC’s would be very beneficial.

Looks like the scenarios are about set. UNC gets the #1 seed over Duke with a win OR A loss and a Wake Forest win over Clemson
-
Just another body for the playoff roster.
-
I’d probably do Drury and 1st assuming we could grab someone like Henrique from Anaheim. Svechnikov - Aho - Teravainen Guentzel - Henrique - Necas Martinook - Staal - Jarvis Bunting - Kotkaniemi - Noesen
-
I agree, I hate giving up a good prospect like that but if it gets us a goal scorer and Guentzel extends then it’s definitely worth it.

How would everyone feel if the Canes acquired Guentzel but the cost was Ponomarev and a first round pick?

2023-24 Regular Season(non canes) thread

Devils fired Lindy Ruff. -
Exactly, The Cup is hard to win, it might be the toughest trophy to win in any sport considering the toll that hockey takes on the body and the amount of games it takes to win The Cup. Losing to the Jets doesn’t change the fact that we still have chance to win The Cup this year.

Think we all need to take a deep breath here. If come Friday and the team still looks the same then we can all gather our pitchforks but no point in getting bent out of shape quite yet.

Seeing conflicting reports about the transfer fee but just through my quick research, Abada seems exactly like the type of player we need. We aren’t getting many goals from inside the six - most of Abada’s goals come from that area - he has a knack for getting on balls that are played across the six. We still need to get better crossing from our wingers - he provides that - Abada should be able to provide good service for Copetti and Agyemang. He also looks to have excellent pace and pretty solid dribbling skills. I really like this signing.

Regular season is overrated. Just make it to the playoffs and get hot.

Charlotte has agreed to terms with Liel Abada from Celtic FC, the deal is believed to be in the $3M range. Abada is a member of the Israeli national team and requested a move after facing political backlash from Celtic fans in Scotland. Hopefully our fans show Abada some southern hospitality as no player deserves to be politically persecuted for something they aren’t involved in. Abada is a winger/forward and he recorded 13 goals and 9 assists in 47 competitions for Celtic during the 2022-23 season.

Knew I forgot someone lol.

ACC is coming down to the wire, lots of different scenarios out there that affect seeding for the tournament.

2024 Charlotte FC Games Thread
MillionDollarCam replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Charlotte Football Club
Agree, but can’t be mad at picking up points on the road. As for Vancouver’s goal, Kahlina has to keep that out. The back line once again played well enough to get a clean sheet. And if Malanda keeps playing like this then he won’t be here long, big clubs will come calling. -
I like Zegras and think Rod is the type of coach he needs to become the elite player that most thought he’d be. Word around the league is he’s immature, Rod will fix that. As for Vatrano, everyone is complaining about scoring, if acquired he’d be our leading goal scorer at 29, next closest is Aho at 24. Zegras is a player you are banking on in the future but should still be able to help right now, he has hit 60 points twice already in his young career; and Vatrano should help in the present. There’s just not an elite player available for trade this year unless Brady Tkachuk becomes available. Buchnevich and Guentzel are other options but the asking price is likely high on those two.
-
Agree 100% here. Wouldn’t be shocked if one of those guys if not two are Hurricanes on Friday. I could see Zegras and Vatrano coming in and Drury heading out with picks and prospects. Svechnikov - Aho - Necas Teravainen - Zegras - Vatrano Martinook - Staal - Fast Bunting - Kotkaniemi - Noesen
-
We’ll see, I bet he’s not back until after the Friday deadline when the roster size no longer matters.
-
Also, Raanta was put on IR. I definitely think that signals that at least one move is going to be made as we’ve opened up a roster spot. There might even be a couple moves made.
-
Cheat? It’s not cheating. Deadline cap space is available to every team, that’s why it’s important to have as much cap space heading into the deadline as possible. It would be cheating the cap if we started putting players on LTIR.
