I wonder if Carolina can send an extra pick like the second rounder we got from Philly for the TDA trade. It’ll be a high second rounder so maybe it gets us over the hump.
-
So Boston has loaded up and they might not be done, Toronto has loaded up, and the Rangers are continuing to load up. Tampa would like to load up but they have Gucci taste with a Walmart budget. That leaves Carolina and New Jersey. New Jersey has young, high end talent on their roster (Mercer) and in their prospect pool (Luke Hughes and Nemec) but none of those players are available which has allowed Carolina to make this interesting. Ultimately I think San Jose will be deciding between Carolina’s offer that’s probably similar to a first round pick, Morrow, and Drury… Or an offer from the Devils that probably consists of a first round pick, Holtz, and Bahl. The team that gets Meier might even send an extra pick (like a second rounder) to separate themselves.

They are going to trade away draft picks until year 2030 to get it done.
-
Rangers can make it work by shipping out a couple of guys and adding a third team to retain an additional 25% of Kane’s contract. They’ll get Kane retained at 75%.

Coaching Staff: Final Pieces (as of 2-23-23)
MillionDollarCam replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like Lilly probably got tired of what college football is becoming. Historically, Lilly has been an elite recruiter at the college level and secured some big time recruits during his time at FSU and UGA. However, he wasn’t as active in recruiting during his time at Carolina, though he did secure commitments from Beau Atkinson, Diego Pounds, and Bryson Nesbit (who happens to be a tight end). Speaking of Nesbit, I’d keep an eye on him next year. He’ll probably go for 800+ yards and 8+ TD’s as a tight end. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him as a Panther if Lilly stays beyond this year. -
Damn teams are loading up.

Yeah his brother Josiah got traded. Gold also said all we are going to do is trade for Craig Smith from Boston… he’s a clown.

Outdoor Stadium Series Canes vs Caps Saturday 8pm
MillionDollarCam replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Damn… nice haul for them. -
I definitely think Okereke will be a Panther. In addition to his connection to Reich, Okereke was also coached by Hansen at Stanford. I’d also like to see Evero bring Dre’Mont Jones with him.

I spoke too soon. Should know better.

Prolonging the inevitable. No way in hell Carolina can win out.
-
Seravalli also mentioned Nick Schmaltz is being shopped by Zona and that the Canes may be interested, he also mentioned that the Canes are still interested in Kane.
-
I’m guessing Seravalli means a very competitive offer.
-
Dundon did an interview with Seravalli today and he stated that we are going to be aggressive. Seravalli stated later after the interview was over that the Canes have a very good offer in for Meier. Very good scares me a bit… did we offer a first rounder, Morrow, and Drury…

I’d be dead in an hour.

So uhhh… Brandon Miller’s stock is dropping.
-
Best case is Carolina lands Timo, second best case is St. Louis lands him.

Link: https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-announces-new-playoff-format-for-2023-season Looks like it’s slowly becoming the NBA playoffs… - Nine teams from each conference - Eight and nine are wild cards and play a one game elimination - First round after the wild card is best of three with no ties.
-
Canes being linked to JG Pageau and Ivan Barbashev. Not exactly sure where Pageau fits because in reality he’s another 3C but Barbashev would be nice. If the Canes could land Barbashev and and Meier I’d be ecstatic. You could end up with… Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis Teravainen - Pageau - Necas Barbashev - Staal - Fast Martinook - Kotkaniemi - Noesen Stepan - Stastny OR Svechnikov - Aho - Meier Teravainen - Kotkaniemi - Necas Barbashev - Staal - Fast Martinook - Stastny - Jarvis Noesen - Stepan With both Kase and Pacioretty on IR, the Canes can add two pieces without shipping anyone out, a third piece would require someone to be moved. I suspect if a third piece is added then it would be a depth defenseman and Coghlan would either be traded or waived with the intent of assigning him to Chicago.

Lololol this might be your best work yet.

Pacioretty Wants To Remain In Carolina

During Dundon’s radio show, he stated that the Canes anticipate bringing Patches back next year. I imagine they’ll sign him to some 1 year / $2.5M deal that has bonuses if certain performance metrics are met. -
From Dundon’s radio interview today, the Canes are trying to make a move but in his words there isn’t a whole lot out there that makes us better. With that said, if we don’t land Meier, I wouldn’t be shocked to see us bring in depth winger and a third pairing left handed defenseman and then call it a day. Additionally, there’s a rumor on a Devils message board that San Jose asked for Dawson Mercer from New Jersey, that would be akin to San Jose asking for Jarvis from us. Additionally, there is report going around that New Jersey will only make a deal with an extension in place as where Carolina is flexible. From what’s being reported, Carolina has Jarvis and Nikishin as untouchables, that could mean Morrow is available for the right piece.
-
Another thing to mention is Warsofsky is the assistant coach for San Jose and he was our AHL coach last year. If anyone knows our prospects, it’s him.
-
The longer this goes on the better for the Canes. New Jersey has the better prospects to offer but they don’t seem keen on letting any of them go and they also need San Jose to retain a bunch or take back a contract.
-
Wonder if the Canes could swing both Henrique and Meier. Svechnikov - Aho - Meier Teravainen - Henrique - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Stasnty/Noesen - Kotkaniemi - Jarvis 1st, Morrow, and Stepan for Meier 2nd, Ponomarev, and Coghlan for Henrique (50% retained)
