  1. After 2: CANES 3 - Hawks 0 Goal 1 - Martinook (4) from Burns (8) and Staal (3) Goal 2 - Staal (4) from Burns (9) and Martinook (5) Goal 3 - Svechnikov (12) from Fast (4)
  2. Fast deserves an assist on that one, hopefully they give it to him, nice shot by Svech.
  3. Jordan Martinook has 9 points (4 goals and 5 assists) in 16 games, a 46 point pace over 82 games. I’ll eat my crow on this one, Martinook has been good this year.
  4. Kochetkov made some big saves early and then Staal and Martinook took over. After 1: CANES 2 - Hawks 0 Goal 1 - Martinook (4) from Burns (8) and Staal (3) Goal 2 - Staal (4) from Burns (9) and Martinook (5)
  5. That’s another point for Martinook as he gets an assist.
  6. The fact that Lajoie is playing when Coghlan is healthy speaks volumes of Rod’s opinion of Coghlan right now.
  7. I hate that call, just because the stick gets parallel doesn’t mean it’s a hook. I despise seeing players get rewarded for pinning the opposing players stick to their body with their elbow.
  8. Martinook is on pace for 41 points this year, only three points off the 44 that Nino put up on Staal’s wing last year.
  9. Nice tip by Martinook, he’s done really well on Staal’s wing.
  10. Hurricanes Projected Lineup: Noesen - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Necas Martinook - Staal - Fast Drury - Stastny - Stepan Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Lajoie - Chatfield Kochetkov Raanta Scratches - de Haan, Coghlan Injured Reserve - Teravainen, Kase, Andersen LTIR - Pacioretty, Gardiner
  11. Canes going up against first line Max Domi and starting goaltender Petr Mrazek. Blackhawks lineup below:
  12. If there is a year to play all the young guys and tank, it’s this year. The 2023 class is shaping up to be one of the best that we’ve seen in quite some time.
  13. Only 11 more wins until Jeff Saturday ties Matt Rhule in wins.
  14. Unfortunately that’s not how it works in the NHL, you can look it up, the NHL along with the NBA has the highest turnover rate for head coaches. Bruce Cassidy had a record of 245-108-46 with the Bruins and took them to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. However, he never brought the cup to Boston and he was fired after five and a half years… this is Rod’s fifth year.
  15. This could have something to do with de Haan getting blasted last night. Lajoie has 4 assists in 10 games with the Wolves, he’s also a -3.
  16. Got mine as well, decided to fly up from Florida for the day.
  17. It’s cup or bust for Rod over the remainder of his contract (two more years I think). If he doesn’t bring us a cup then he won’t be back in my opinion. Just look at the success that Cassidy had in Boston, he couldn’t get the job done though and he was let go.
  18. Agreed and unfortunately some of the other teams in our division have improved. It’s going to be a dog fight.
  19. Two steps forward, one step back. I’m not 100% we’ll even make the playoffs.
  20. Good stop, but I need to know what Dre Bly teaches our secondary, because it ain’t football.
  21. Needed a TD, no way in hell we keep them out of field goal range.
