Suzuki re-signed.

Yeah, I’m with trading the pick. Dillingham will be gone and Castle only wants to be a PG. Those were the only guys I was interested in with a top 5/6 pick. Trade the pick for an established player.
-
Yeah, we’ve only had one player in Hurricanes history with a 100 point season (Staal in 05-06). Getting another one would be a feat in itself, three is highly unlikely.

Personal opinion is that Westwood and Diani are a little redundant. I’d like to see more attacking players in the middle but for the past few years, regardless of the coach, they essentially prefer two CDM’s and one CAM (which we don’t even really have). Westwood would be fine as a lone CDM, as would Diani. But I’d want a better two way CM next to one of them along with a DP CAM. -

That was just momentarily. On the first, second, fourth, and fifth goal, Necas was playing RW. -

I haven’t seen him playing center? He’s being centered by Kampf with Kubalik on the other wing. Even the Czech Republic’s lineup shows him at RW. -
Necas is still on the wing for the Czech’s, he’s being centered by Kampf and Kubalik is on the other wing. Also, keep in mind, IIHF rinks are bigger than NHL rinks, that’s definitely beneficial to a player like Necas.

Another draw, just need to get to the summer so we can get some transfers in to help the cause. -

Abada and Bender on the bench tonight, guess both are healthy. -
A CBA will be coming in the next few years. Also, I suspect the other 27 conferences to eventually break away from the NCAA and form some other entity because the NCAA approved the settlement without giving any thought to the little guys. I suspect we’ll then see a group of teams outside of those 27 conferences that are on board with paying players join together and create a 5th power conference to go along with the P4. Basically G5 schools that generate $50M+ in revenue (JMU, Fresno, Boise, UNLV, Colorado State, SDSU, UConn, Liberty, USF, Memphis, ECU, etc.).

I think it could still be Tulsky. The search could just be a formality in the same way that Morgan took over the Panthers. I think if Tulsky wants the job then it’s his.
-
His contract was expiring, Dundon only pays a premium if he feels like you are the best at what you do and rumors are that Tulsky was the puppet master.
-
Hopefully Tulsky gets the job.

This makes the most sense. The Canes need to cut salary in a Necas trade, not add it. Adding a Brady Tkachuk or a Travis Konecny would be nice but we are eventually going to run into cap issues if we don’t start getting contributions from guys on ELC’s.

Hoping that Nikishin is the next Sergei Zubov.

It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll be moved. I know there’s been talks on and off about him getting moved. Have to think we’d be interested if he’s available considering we were interested in his brother.
-
Landing Reus, regardless of his age, would be massive for the Crown. He’d be an elite MLS player and we’d finally have a CAM.
-
He’s not, he’s under contract for next year.
-
He’ll cost a first round, second round, and third round pick (RFA compensation). Not sure I’m okay with that.
-
There’s zero chance Freddie is not here next year. You can’t find a goalie less than $4M on the market and Fred’s buyout would still carry a cap hit of over $1M. I get fans want to just up and get rid of players but that’s not how the NHL works.
