  1. Didn’t see a thread anywhere so I figured this is probably the best spot to start one. So far China is pulling it in followed by the ROK.
  2. True that but even if you trade it for later capital, better to get a return on investment.
  3. Everything tells me we are going to go short term high value as soon as free agency drops.
  4. I worry most that he’s more of a dougie. The more offensive chance he gets the more he forgets his a defensemen. Couple that with the fact he was basically getting rag dolled on our boards defensively…
  5. This could be a very strong indicator of Dougie coming back too if we are willing to give bean up.
  6. Nah, it’s pretty obvious they felt ned was still a project and would probably be backing up whoever we bring in. Ned probably didn’t want to play backup. It’s not a rebuild unless you see Aho, Tro, Foegs, Slavin, staal, etc jumping ship. We a stupidly good core. My biggest worries is getting Svech resigned and bring Haakanpaa back. We get those two things done I’ll be happy with what ever direction we go. Though I’d like to see McGinn and Marty back too.
  7. Clearing would be cap space for big time imports this off-season. We are going cup or broke. To further I think the mentality is to forego developing players and surround our stupidly good base with fully developed talent. I think bean and Ned both deserved firsts though. If we could have loaded up on first and then gone win or die by the time that experiment is successful or not those first would be ready for NHL play. Im thinking Carolina thought bean was a lock in Seattle for sure, so they didn’t have him as part of the UFA scheme. I expect to see a flurry of action on the 28th/29th.
  8. He’s also 33 and lagging like you said though but I agree with the sentiment on face value.
  9. Bernier is a UFA as of the 28th. I’m assuming we are going to sign him for 1-1.5 or perhaps even let him walk if we get a better situation. I feel like we are going to target a moderately high priced goalie.
  10. I really would have liked to have seen him for an entire real season but I feel like there was more factors than just don/Tom/rod didn’t want to pay him.
  11. Another thing to consider is Detroit is only about 2 hours from Parma, Ohio. Not a plane ride or 8 hour drive from Raleigh, I would not be surprised if that factored into things as Ned seems like a pretty family oriented person.
  12. If I’m not mistaken he couldn’t take them to arbitration, only us. So if Waddell says he was asking for 5 here and wouldn’t budge it makes sense. His agent outplayed him it sounds like. Perhaps he didn’t want to be here anymore either for what ever reason. Counter point is it sounds like we were trying to get him for 2.5 and he said no. I bet we would have gone to three but his agent going full on arbitration did not sound like something Waddell wanted to negotiate at all.
  13. They went really young it looks like. Gonna be interesting to see how their season goes.
  14. I think giving him an opportunity in Seattle is the best for everyone. If true it really sounds like rod told Ron, look this dude needs an opportunity on a third or second line. It sounds like he could get that there and it’s not like Seattle won’t be a cup contender like Vegas with this drafting system either. I really did think bean though, a young face of the franchise defenseman.
  15. Ah, gotcha. I thought it was 10PM. Makes a lot more sense. If that’s the case. We got out sitting real pretty. Geekie gets a higher opportunity and we kept Bean, Lorentz and McCormick.
  16. Have selected? isn’t it not up until tonight? If we only lose geekie I will be fugging stun. I like geekie but for us he’s a 4th liner at best right now.
  17. Bean, he was a Francis project. Kinda telling we went Fast over Nino though…
  18. Ya at this point I don’t think we afford the 8 skaters. We’ll see how many D they want to protect though.

    Loki

Really not happy with 5 or 6. There was so much more they could have done with Sylvie and second gen Loki but it was pure exposition. I feel like there was no deep closure to either of their stories. The whole thing was cookie cutter. But I’ll afford marvel the opportunity to expand on where they are going cause all be it feige is a dick he is a really good story teller.

Confirmed second season according to the post credit scene.
  21. It’s not about being a cheap ass. We have plenty of cap space to play with but we have a ton of people to resign including Svech and a second goalie no matter what. 4-4.5 for 2-3 years is fine for Ned prove it seal in the scheme of things. If his upper arbitration limit is 4.5 I wouldn’t be to worried. I would be worried if he’s asking for vas or price money and can get it through arbitration. He had one decently good half season, ABH is right. We need to see what he can do in a full season with a heavier work load.
