Not actually eliminated yet, and Rhule is in "save my ass" mode so who knows?

Rhule should be one of four head coaches to see early Black Monday

I'd feel a lot better if he were using someone else's noggin.

Latest word was that Gonzalez might actually be able to go (no tear, just a strain) so I suspect they're awaiting word on that front before going elsewhere.

This is the part of the equation that concerns me. This is why it concerns me.

The problem with waiting until the season ends this year is that with the interview window that the NFL is granting at the end of this season, you give at least two and potentially more teams a head start on interviewing the best candidates.

Cleveland isn't firing Stefanski. It's conceivable they might part ways with Baker Mayfield.

It's all over the regular media. If you search for 'NFL coaches on the hot seat', you'll find pretty much every article prominently mentions Rhule. -

When you're rebuilding, "rough" is expected. The first season was rough, and if the second season stopped at "rough", I'd still be okay with it. But rebuilding also indicates you're improving, and we haven't done that this year. In fact, we seem to be going backward. That I'm not okay with.- 35 replies

Agreed, but there was a time when I couldn't imagine him stupidly hanging on to Marty Hurney either and that happened, so... -

To be clear, Farrar is listing this as something that he believes ought to happen, not something that he's predicting will happen. -
Common belief is he'll inherit the Pats job when Belichick retires. (so approximately fifty years from now) It was actually reported two years ago that he could have had an earlier interview with us but Belichick set something up that made him have to stay longer and he wound up missing out altogether.

I wasn't the world's biggest "Josh McDaniels as a head coach" fan (still not) but I do remember thinking he might have been the best option out of the candidates we had. Guess we'll never know...

Fair. Heck, up till earlier this year, there were plenty of reasons to be optimistic. But man, did things go into the toilet fast. To be clear, I haven't had all that much issue with the past two years draft picks. Free agency hasn't been as kind to us but it hasn't necessarily been awful. Still, I think the real problem this year hasn't been either of those things as much as it's been coaching.

Had a feeling you might respond thusly

So did Rivera. Maybe in the future, we should take a great initial press conference to be a bad sign

Let the arguing begin. -
I'm on for the same reason I always have been. I enjoy talking about football. Granted, sometimes it's not as much fun as others.

That wouldn't be a huge surprise.
