  1. Even if not offering him is a dealbreaker for the Texans?
  2. Not a big Darnold fan, but I'd still rate him significantly better than Bridgewater. He at least has a chance to make a turn around like Ryan Tannehill did. Don't know that he will, but I do feel pretty comfortable saying that Bridgewater won't.
  3. Which is why I'm hoping for better. Also hoping David Tepper doesn't try to be Jerry Jones.
  4. I'm not just talking about quarterbacks, and not just recently. Think of Sean Gilbert, for example.
  5. Or just call Dan Morgan, who our current GM is known to be very well connected with.
  6. Only if they want him though. One of the things that puts us at a bit of a disadvantage is that there are other teams out there who can offer a ready made starting quarterback in return. We can't do that. Neither can we offer a high enough pick to guarantee one of the best quarterbacks available in the draft. The Jets and Dolphins can do both.
  7. Definitely. If you hired me to run your team, and then the first thing you did was start overriding my decisions, I'd likely tell you to kiss my ass and good luck searching for a new GM. From what I've read about Fitterer, I don't necessarily think he rolls over for something like that either.
  8. I've seen the Panthers "shoot their shot" before. I'd like different results.
  9. I'd agree, and that's something of a subtext in all of this. Said previously, the last thing I want is Tepper having any direct involvement in personnel decisions. It's one thing for an owner to say "you need to get a franchise quarterback". It's another for them to say "it has to be this guy and you'll give up this much". David Tepper is not qualified to make those kinds of evaluations, and if he overrides the people who are, it's not a good thing.
  10. The idea of trading up for Fields makes me nervous because he's inconsistent. Honestly, the idea of trading up for any of the "runner ups" to Lawrence makes me nervous (for different reasons with each one)
  11. I don't know what the DC equivalent of Hydra is (if there is one).
  12. There is one guy they desperately need to fire, and doing so would probably help their situation quite a bit. This fact seems to be obvious to pretty much everybody but the Texans. Hell, some people think they're gonna promote him.
  13. That scenario scares the hell out of me. The last thing I want is for David Tepper to become active in football decisions.
  14. Rhule is said to be really high on him as well.
  15. Yesterday you were a relative of David Tepper. I call shenanigans
  16. Valid. All the reasons we can lay out for wanting Watson equally apply as reasons why the Texans shouldn't trade him. And yes, they so have a choice.
  17. Not John McClain though. The template he laid out said otherwise, and McClain is one of the best Texan sources you can find.
  18. We've heard from our resident insider that a big part of that push came from Marty Hurney though. With Marty gone and Fitterer on board, I'm not sure we can still say that.
  19. I agree about Tepper. The staff, not so much, especially given that we just got a new GM who's way more qualified than our last one was. What I really hope to see is Tepper trusting his staff and not being another Jerry Jones.
  20. Understand. And I'd love for our GM to be able to trade lesser value for greater value as well. We all would. I'm just not so sure it's realistic.
  21. I'd agree. Gotta remember another team isn't going to look at our players the same way Panthers fans would. They'll have a much more critical eye.
  22. Technically Rivera has a better W-L record, but what's your argument?
