    From Dane Brugler's latest mock in The Athletic. Brugler also has the Panthers trading up to #3, giving up this year's first, third and fifth along with next year's first. He then has them drafting Justin Fields after Lawrence and Wilson go one and two.

    At the moment, they're turning down everybody. They're not even listening to the offers. As to why the Jets, probably because they can offer the highest pick of anyone but the Jags, who aren't trading. Hence, they're the only team that can guarantee one of this year's top two quarterbacks.

    Newton still had what, four years left on his contract at that point and hadn't started getting injured. If we'd have drafted Mahomes (or any quarterback) while Newton still had four years left on his deal people would have gone apesh-t.

    And I believe to do so could be a mistake, especially in the top ten.

    Not to defend Marty because he's basically correct, but it's kinda hard to take this seriously given that the guy writing it doesn't seem to know Marty didn't do all the drafting of the past five years, and in fact didn't draft the particular player he cites as an example.

    The team's position is that they're not trading him at all, and McClain echoes that. He said it would be the Jets if they changed their mind, but he doesn't believe they will. Right now, most people don't.

    ESPN wants McShay to ultimately turn into Mel Kiper's successor but I just don't see it. I'm not exactly a big Mel Kiper fan for that matter, but he is better than McShay.

    Well here's something that...I don't know what it means (outside of Steven Drummond getting a promotion) So whoever the Chairman and Vice President of External Football Operations is (and whatever the heck someone with that title does) Drummond is now his senior advisor

    Yep. And while I'm sure a lot of athletes would like you to believe that their Pro Day results are a more accurate measure than the Combine, I'm...skeptical.

    He's not wrong here. Early mock drafts are about as accurate as Imperial Stormtroopers.
