  1. Rapoport showing off his investigative skills. Also...
  2. From Dane Brugler's latest mock in The Athletic. Brugler also has the Panthers trading up to #3, giving up this year's first, third and fifth along with next year's first. He then has them drafting Justin Fields after Lawrence and Wilson go one and two.
  3. At the moment, they're turning down everybody. They're not even listening to the offers. As to why the Jets, probably because they can offer the highest pick of anyone but the Jags, who aren't trading. Hence, they're the only team that can guarantee one of this year's top two quarterbacks.
  4. You'd have gotten drunk and thrown the Lombardi trophy across a river?
  5. Newton still had what, four years left on his contract at that point and hadn't started getting injured. If we'd have drafted Mahomes (or any quarterback) while Newton still had four years left on his deal people would have gone apesh-t.
  6. And I believe to do so could be a mistake, especially in the top ten.
  7. Not to defend Marty because he's basically correct, but it's kinda hard to take this seriously given that the guy writing it doesn't seem to know Marty didn't do all the drafting of the past five years, and in fact didn't draft the particular player he cites as an example.
  8. The team's position is that they're not trading him at all, and McClain echoes that. He said it would be the Jets if they changed their mind, but he doesn't believe they will. Right now, most people don't.
  9. ESPN wants McShay to ultimately turn into Mel Kiper's successor but I just don't see it. I'm not exactly a big Mel Kiper fan for that matter, but he is better than McShay.
  10. All valid. Honestly, I have concerns with pretty much every one of the quarterback prospects we might get.
  11. Can't argue that. Meanwhile, Brady's doing a pretty good Charlie Sheen impersonation.
  12. And hey, if you're looking for a job just send your resumé to David Tepper at 800 Mint Street. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to give it a look
  13. Okay, so senior advisor to the chairman (Tepper) and also VP of External Football Operations. As to what "external" football operations are...
  14. I'd heard Gronk dented one but didn't know how. Personally, I wouldn't let Gronk handle anything of any value. He's like that one drunken idiot of a relative you have that you never let borrow your car.
  15. Getzenberg explained that the second guy is in charge of coordinating anything Covid related. Drummond is a communications guy. That's all I know.
  16. Well here's something that...I don't know what it means (outside of Steven Drummond getting a promotion) So whoever the Chairman and Vice President of External Football Operations is (and whatever the heck someone with that title does) Drummond is now his senior advisor
  17. To clarify, per ESPN that was Brady to Gronk, and apparently it was the real thing
  18. I sincerely hope that's not the real thing. Meanwhile...
  19. Yep. And while I'm sure a lot of athletes would like you to believe that their Pro Day results are a more accurate measure than the Combine, I'm...skeptical.
  20. He's not wrong here. Early mock drafts are about as accurate as Imperial Stormtroopers.
  21. From the article... The study of information they have on hand started in earnest Wednesday, as Carolina's college scouts began two weeks of intensive meetings with general manager Scott Fitterer. That I actually think it would be interesting to sit in on those meetings tells me I'm not a normal person
