I know you did. That's why you lost.
-
Yeah...at this point you're just bullsh-tting.

Do you measure a great season by stats or wins? Newton certainly had great statistical seasons, but in the context of coaching discussion, team wins are what matter.
-
Disagree with Miller's characterization here, but getting back to the heart of things, the question was which coaching staff is better. We've had plenty of discussion regarding Newton, but I haven't seen anything about how Rivera would develop Young. Is that really something you'd want him entrusted with?
-
I've been talking about the offense overall under Rivera. The 2015 edition was the best of that, but it didn't last beyond that season. The "one game" where it got figured out was technically two since Atlanta did it first, but the Super Bowl arguably had more impact.
-
Technically it was what Mike Shula was doing, and it really only took one game. Hell, even 2015 wasn't as good as people reminisce it was. The formula that year was basically to build a lead in the first half then pray like hell we didn't lose it by game's end because our coaching staff had no idea how to make adjustments. By the following season, we couldn't even do that. That didn't change till Nov arrived, but again...too late.
-
Figured out how we were using him, yeah. Turner tried transitioning him to something different, and it probably could have worked but by that time it was too late.
-
Things that work at those levels don't necessarily work at the pro level. As it was, we got one great season and a bunch of decent to mediocre ones. As soon as other teams figured out how to counter what we were doing in 2015, we had no answers.

How would you feel if we cut Chuba and signed Hunt?

If we're going to sign a free agent, I'd prefer somebody like Andrew Norwell or Dalton Risner. -
If all Rivera had done was play to Newton's strengths, I'd approve of that. What Rivera actually did was take the Buddy Ryan approach and basically expected Newton to be the offense while he concentrated on the defense. This combined with insufficient protection helped shorten Newton's career.
-
Can't agree with that. Bryce Young's development being in the hands of Ron Rivera would give me nightmares.
-
That's a fan thing. It hardly ever happens in the real NFL.

Steve Mariucci and Michael Robinson are ripping the hell out of Trey Lance. Actually said Sam Darnold played better.
-
We're recovering from Matt Rhule. That's as bad as anything else we've had.

Checked out the Cowboys game. Will Grier was looking sharp. Also saw 5'5 Deuce Vaughn (the scout's son) make an impressive 26 yard run and score a rushing TD just a few plays later. I'm rooting for the kid.

Polian and Reich are friends and talk regularly . He attended practice with Sirius XM back in early August.

Yeeeeaaahhh, no It was never gonna be that.

Not so sure. Since they cut the fourth game, Preseason Two tends to be the "dress rehearsal" game where the starters play the most snaps. Depends on whether we follow that script, I suppose.

Fair point Eagles cheerleaders are about as close to nudity as you can get

Posted elsewhere but it fits here... Violence and explicit language? Yeah, but...
