Not free agency but big news nonetheless... Prepare to see Commanders fans dancing in the streets. (or shield your eyes to avoid the trauma)

If he gets injured, retires or for whatever reason can't play anymore, it becomes hilarious

I judge who Tepper is by how much he stays out of things. So far this offseason, he's doing pretty well.

"Smart' referred to the Rooneys. As to the rest, yeah we'll see but I feel a lot more confident now than I did when we were run by King Matthew and his Knights of Baylor.

One other thing I would add... When we were hearing and seeing that the "keep pounding" motto was being deemphasized, a lot of people thought Tepper was behind it. Now that we've had a chance to peek behind the scenes of the Rhule era, It appears our esteemed head coach had more to do with that, wanting to replace it with his own slogans and stuff like "The Brand". It is my sincere hope that anything related to The Brand or any other stuff that Rhule was trying to push has been forcefully excised from the stadium and grounds. Burn it all. Leave no traces...

I remember watching him in the Senior Bowl before he was drafted. He was good.

And away we go...

One thing I've observed since the new regime got put in place is that all our new arrivals learn to say "keep pounding' pretty quick. -

I'm sure Evero's review will play a big part in what they do with him. -

Not really fast enough to be an edge rusher. Don't know that he's good enough inside to be a 3-4 DE. Definitely a question mark... -
There are loads of indications that our offense this year could be very run heavy. That's a situation that makes a good run blocking tight end more valuable.

They've been smart. Not being smart immediately isn't a bad thing as long as you can see it and admit it. The next step after those two things is to correct it. Tepper's in that process, at least.

I think Luvu starts over Haynes -
My feelings run on an inverse scale to his involvement in football decisions. Basically, the less he's involved, the more I like him. (and vice versa)

Trusting the wrong people is one of the worst mistakes any owner can make. It was the same mistake that Jerry Richardson made. Unfortunately, Richardson never learned (or acknowledged) how wrong he was. Tepper has at least admitted to his failures and seems to be working to fix them. I'll take that.

The biggest positive for me is that he let the football people run the coaching search, right down to abstaining from the final vote. He's also publicly admitted that he came in thinking he could change everything and revolutionize the game but has now learned that he wasn't as football smart as he thought he was. His role these days seems best described as questions and suggestions, but not decisions. As long as it stays that way, I'm good.

Wilks had no say in player personnel, only coaching staff. As head coach, he could bench Robby, but he had no power to cut or trade him.
-
I'm a lot less concerned with who they pick than I am who makes the pick. As long as that decision is made by the football people, I'll be okay with it. (even if it isn't my first choice)
