For the record, Jared Lorenzen wasn't really that good.

Some managers have no concept of skill sets. They think just because someone is smart in one area (or smart in general) they can automatically be smart at anything else too. It's kind of like thinking an accountant can also slide into the role of a lawyer. Or a great receiver can automatically also be a great quarterback. Jerry Richardson used to do the same dumb sh-t. That's how we wound up with a sportswriter / PR guy as a general manager.

I've never really seen any indication that Rhule had a "long game" or anything resembling strategic thinking.

Technically, Pat Stewart was connected to Rhule from their time at Western Carolina. From what I know though, Stewart has been good at his job.

In her Twitter space, Sheena Quick said Rhule has been texting anybody that would listen trash talking the Panthers.

Callihan was something of a Rhule homer when he was on the hot seat. I'm gonna guess he feels differently now.
