Probability Analysis of the Burns and DJ decision
Mr. Scot replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was told there would be no math -
Part of me also wonders if, supposing Waldron wins the job, does familiarity via old buddy Liam Coen help out Will Levis? It's already believed he'll try to take Geno Smith with him if he's hired.
-
To be fair, Allbright predicted Adam Peters would be the GM. I'm intrigued by both Steichen and Waldron, and obviously Reich.
-
I'd subtract Harbaugh and add Waldron.

Agree to a point...Campen and Tabor have both been good. Mind you, Tabor was unemployed and Campen was with the Texans. They wanted him back but he chose Carolina instead. (the wisdom of that may be debatable but it benefits us regardless)

I'd like having him as part of the staff one way or the other.

No need to be jealous and bitter.

Brugler: Next year's quarterbacks "not universally loved"
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's got the same kind of inside sources that plenty of other reporters do. -
I think people don't get that sometimes. Most of us probably have or have previously had coworkers you couldn't stand. Well coaches are human too, and they don't like having difficult to deal with coworkers any more than you do. Scott O'Brien was a famous example of that in Carolina. He was generally considered one of the better special teams coaches in the league, but nearly everybody that had to work with him hated him.

He's not talking about his own doubts. He's talking about how the teams doing the drafting feel. -
Mike Kaye expands... Ben McAdoo said he supports interim head coach Steve Wilks’ decision to start PJ Walker at quarterback against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. But McAdoo also made it abundantly clear on Tuesday that the choice to go with Walker came down to Wilks having the final say. “Yeah, that’s Coach’s decision,” McAdoo said. “We had some conversations behind the scenes. I don’t want to get really involved in that a whole heckuva a lot.” (Link) So...yeah

Probably, but the staff he was left with isn't his fault. I don't blame him for trying, but at this point the odds are approaching snowball in hell level.
-
The staff on the defensive side isn't exactly anything special right now. Of course, anyone available for hire at this point is either unemployed or retired.

Don't know much about Abrams but I could get on board with that.

Funny thing about Grimm... There was a story at the time that Pittsburgh had actually decided to name him head coach. But then the league allegedly stepped in and said something along the lines of "Hey, wouldn't it be nice if the team where the Rooney Rule originated hired a minority coach?" No idea whether there's any truth to that. I don't recall it ever being verified or checked out so it remains strictly a rumor. I do know Grimm left the Steelers right after (think he went to the Cardinals). Obviously, hiring Tomlin wasn't a mistake. I do wonder what kind of head coach Grimm would have been though had he gotten an opportunity there or somewhere else.

Speaking of coaches...

To be fair, who didn't while Rhule was still in charge?
