  1. Hard to imagine Rhule agreeing to that given how close he and Snow are.
  2. He served as Associate Head Coach with the Browns under Kitchens. He'd probably have Baker's vote given he was part of that team.
  3. I can see firing him now to get an early start on vetting candidates to be the next head coach. It is possible though that if he's let go, he takes his guys with him.
  4. 2018 : Green Bay Packers - Head Coach Mike McCarthy was fired the same day as a Week 13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals 2019 : Cleveland Browns - Head Coach Freddie Kitchens was fired December 29th with one game remaining on the schedule 2020 : Los Angeles Chargers - Head Coach Anthony Lynn was fired one day after the season ended 2021 : Houston Texans - Head Coach David Culley was fired four days after the final game of the season 2022 : Carolina Panthers - Head Coach Matt Rhule ... Yikes! To be clear, I think Campen is a good OL Coach (his reputation is that he's one of the best) but damn has he signed on to some unfortunate ships over the past few years.
  5. To be fair, Tepper meeting with Rhule the Monday after a game wouldn't exactly be out of the ordinary. It's possibly just a normal thing that wouldn't typically be news. There should at some point today be news of Rhule having a presser but I haven't seen that yet either.
  6. I've looked around Twitter and other sources and can't find a thing. FYI: Don't think you can delete your own posts anymore, but you can ask a mod.
  7. That's fine, but people would like to know where you saw it.
  8. Yep. While it's true that Rome wasn't built in a day, it's also true that the people who built it didn't set fire to the entire landscape and dig a giant crater before they even got started.
  9. I keep going back to this quote and quite frankly I still find it amazing that he said it. It's almost comical to think that he would say something this flat out stupid. You really can't make this stuff up.
  10. Oh, there's absolutely something wrong with Sam. Baker is harder to judge.
  11. As I think they should be. I absolutely want to see what they can do when not saddled with Matt Rhule.
  12. Here's the big problem I have with that idea. If you only fire Rhule, then the choice of next head coach is likely up to Fitterer and Morgan. If you fire both Rhule and Fitterer, then both the next head coach and the next GM are going to be picked by David Tepper. (and whatever sycophant he brings along to tell him he's the smartest man alive and his choice is absolutely the right one) Do we really want to see that scenario play out?
  13. I remember someone who had an inside connection saying Tepper genuinely believed it could happen. It was pointed out to a lot of the people defending this idea that in the college scenarios, there was actually a big jump between year one and year two. That of course didn't occur with the Panthers.
  14. I genuinely don't want Payton. Besides the likely ridiculous haul that we would have to give up to a division rival, Payton is gonna want complete control. No way do I wanna see that model kept around. That plus successful guys rarely duplicate their success in new organizations.
  15. He kept Marty around a couple of years too long. Seems to be a thing with him...
  16. It's possible. Kind of hard to picture him being a hot name given the utter failure with the Panthers but all the reporting seems to say that's what he is. College football is definitely a different world.
  17. And Rhule would be entering into a new contract with whatever college hired him.
  18. Technically that's the end of somebody else's Week 2. Our Week 2 is over.
  19. Not sure how that would work, but I think Petrino did it out of pride as much as anything else. Even if everybody knows he would ultimately have been fired, he can say he left on his own terms.
