There was context to last year's Total Defense ranking too, but people kept ignoring it -

"See?! We have a good defense! I told you!" - What we'll probably be hearing from Rhule and Snow defenders soon -
Matt Rhule disappointed, not discouraged by opening loss

Didn't he just get an extension though? (the Bidwills aren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer either) -
I'll get to check it out. I'm planning to use some of my free time this week to watch the game reviews on NFL Plus.
-
Oh, and thanks for reminding me that things aren't going well in Dallas. I hadn't heard anything about that
-
That rumor comes up on a regular basis but I've yet to see there actually be anything to it.
-
I didn't watch the game but I've heard Hackett's first outing was rough. That's not unusual though .
-
First off, your analysis on me is dead wrong, though I can understand thinking I've constantly complained about GMs because the GM for most of the years I've been here was Marty Hurney. As far as better execution, you know what helps that happen? More practice reps. Is it "just one game"? With the full roster, yes. With Matt Rhule? No. We've already got two years of tape on him, and watching him get fooled by the tricks Stefanski pulled didn't help his evaluation. And as I told others, wanna choose to be optimistic? That's fine with me. I don't choose a mindset till I see what I'm looking at, and what I saw this past Sunday wasn't good. There's still time for it to get better, but knowing who's in charge I won't be surprised if it doesn't.

Sloppy is normal. What we saw yesterday was much worse than just "sloppy".
-
You wanna try and say they looked as bad as us?
-
You've never heard of him
-
Watched the highlights (same as you). Will be watching the full replay this week. Planning on watching quite a bit of them on NFL plus honestly.
-
Is our defense also playing? They're gonna be facing a Brian Daboll led unit with a hard running RB. I'd call that more inertia than momentum.
-
They got new players and lost old ones in the offseason...same as us. Other teams with rookie head coaches put teams on the field that looked like they belonged in the NFL. Hell, the Giants beat the Titans and the Dolphins drubbed the Patriots. How is it that these guys can have their units ready and up to the challenge of good teams while we face a team led by a backup QB and a coach inexplicably going against his team's strengths, but look awful and lose?
-
I wouldn't call that "momentum".
-
They both had the same amount of time available this offseason. We got one big flukey play but for the most part not much till the fourth. Credit goes to McAdoo likely for finding something that worked. But even that doesn't change how horrible we looked on offense for the rest of the game, or how terrible the e defense look for the entire game.
-
I'm pretty sure Satan is involved on some level
-
I expected us to at least look like an NFL team. We didn't.
-
Nobody expects "perfect" in week one. We have every right to expect "competent". What we got instead was absolutely awful. And I can tell you this: If you watched many other teams yesterday, you'd have been hard pressed to find a unit that looked as top to bottom terrible as we did.
-
The ones who look sh-tty do. Sorry dude, but there is no spin in the world that could make what we saw yesterday look any better. This is the NFL,and unfortunately our head coach isn't qualified to coach in it.
-
Not if we'd have looked halfway decent... even in a loss. It's an issue now because the first half to three quarters of that game had us watching one of the sh-ttiest overall performances I've ever seen from any team, not just us. And if you're talking defense, all four quarters.

Man, that first paragraph is good.
