  1. Getting the little things right is something successful teams do. That said, there's far greater evidence of Matt Rhule being incompetent than this move in particular.
  2. Meaning that what some people attribute to "coachspeak" is actually incompetence. I've yet to see enough good to convince me I should trust Matt Rhule when it comes to roster building.
  3. It all comes off kinda funny, though. This was just a few days ago... Then today, they bring in a guy who's more run stuffer than pass rusher and say this about Nixon... I know someone will say "coachspeak" that doesn't really explain everything. It's also kind of hard to miss that Fitterer says one thing and then Rhule says/does another.
  4. You thinking your opinion has anywhere close to the credibility Ellis has...
  5. Rhule indicated in his comments that he and the assistant coaches made the decision about Nixon, at least. That's not unusual. Once you get to the season itself, coaches have set the depth chart and tend to have more input into things like that.
  6. Here's a better suggestion for determining your draft order...
  7. It is. This is one of those "predicted" (read: hypothetical) trades that lesser websites pull out of their ass.
  8. Don't get cutting Nixon over Bravvion Roy, among others. I'm not alone...
  9. Getting into the playoffs doesn't mean anything if you're embarrassed when you get there. A win would be best, but at the very least you have to be competitive. If you look like you don't belong, it's worthless.
  10. I get all that, but as an NFL head coach you're still the guy in charge of what happens on gameday. If you can't contribute something to, for lack of a better term, the process, what is your value?
  11. If you need your head coach to "get out of the way" in order to be successful, why is he your head coach?
  12. How you go into a season is meaningless. It's how you come out of it that matters. I don't "choose" to be optimistic, or pessimistic for that matter. I prefer to look at what I see and judge on that basis. Choosing an outlook before examining the situation is choosing to ignore facts.
  13. I'm up for one more shot. Okay if I include the parrot again?
  14. Would Rhule going 11-6 this season then going 5-12 the next three strike you as a positive?
  15. Not sure if anybody on here has a subscription to this but it looks pretty interesting.
  16. Also not directly NFL but still newsworthy...
  17. Also from Denver... Mom might have given him the stink eye for that Dad probably high-fived him
  18. Gotcha. Didn't notice. As I understand it, the reason they schedule games with West Coast teams at 4pm is so that their fans can watch at 1pm rather than 10am in their time zone.
  19. As far as the video... First half I felt like I was watching The Shaq Thompson Show. He was really animated and lively. Giovanni Ricci? Uuummm... Loved the last portion with Ickey's grandmother. She was phenomenal
  20. My concern on that front is that if the defense isn't stout, we could find ourselves needing to score a lot of points. Is a team with a "Foxball" mindset going to be capable of doing that?
  21. Some teams stay in a temporary location when they have a stretch like that. Not sure whether we will or not.
  22. Bill Callahan teams tend to have really strong run games.
