Down the road we may look at pictures of Matt Rhule the same way.

Don't know that this has been mentioned yet but big kudos to Mike Tomlin...

That picture is the answer to a lot of perplexing questions.

2005, DT Atiyyah Ellison (yeah, it actually happened)

Haslam's "great quarterback" comment is as tone deaf and ignorant as anything I've seen in a long, long while.
-
Ellis...

Yeah, I've said before that for me that falls under the category of "He's dumb, but he's not that dumb". (acknowledging that this kind of statement sometimes ends with a really unfortunate result)
-
Which...may not be good for us seeing as he was the Panthers trainer for 20 years. Might not necessarily affect anybody who's here now, but could still be embarrassing.
-
Not this season, no. That was last year.

Sorry, dude. Walker is just not that good, especially in the red zone. He can look half decent (sometimes) when there's plenty of space to work with, but once the field shortens it's pretty bad. He's not an NFL quarterback.

There is a part of my brain that thinks "Good grief, he's not gonna stop till he finds some way to keep PJ Walker, is he?" I'm trying really hard not to believe that but damn
-
I'm not sure a had coach who thinks you can run a two quarterback system in the regular season is going to have a very good understanding of "rhythm".

I get the feeling there are going to be some revelations forthcoming that will relate back to his time with us.

I'm gonna need more popcorn

Not sure how much of it I'm going to be able to see because the day ahead of me is...complicated. I'll definitely come back and review it later though.

Plus arm length Seriously though, I suspect it might be wise to give a Ekwonu some help when he's first starting out, especially week one. -

And again the following year for QB coach before he hired Sean Ryan. Rhule's own words in his interview with Joe Person were that he had talked to Ben McAdoo before but that he "never seemed to be the right fit". -
I suspect Watson could be a PR nightmare for them. (Jimmy and Dee Haslam aren't exactly helping)

Don't know that it ever got that far with Caldwell. Rhule's entire quote from the Joe Person interview was "I’ve tried to get Jim Caldwell to come work for me a couple times. His son actually played for my father in ninth-grade football." No further details. There were rumors about us looking at him when Rhule was hired (from Jourdan Rodrigue, I think) but I never saw a confirmed interview. That could have been one of Rhule's "times" but we don't know for sure. Might never have gotten past a phone call. Also, the guy they named QB coach that season was already on staff (Jake Peetz). Ryan wasn't brought aboard until the following year.
