You mean like the teams that have qualified NFL head coaches? Oh hell, yeah!
-
Because some of those teams fail. Hint: We're one of them.
-
Truthfully, it could all makr perfect sense... ...if this were college football.
-
The "competition" should have been over the day Baker signed his contract.
-
If that's already decided, then giving him developmental time over a rookie is pretty dumb.
-
Nearly half the snaps dedicated to a guy who's not gonna make the roster...
-
His schtick is to take up positions that nobody agrees with and write nonsensical six paragraph posts defending them.
-
So in other words, he's a freshman. This is a prime example of college coach thinking.
-
But not a real head coach...
-
I think Carboni gets it...
-
I know there are some guys who just delusionally think you can't say anything negative about the team, regardless of how bad they look. Silly, but that's their thing. You've got other guys who I'm pretty sure are just being internet a--holes. That's kinda pathetic though not surprising... But yes, there are also some "true believers". Those guys scare me
-
Granted, but when I look back at some of the other statements Rhule was made (including this latest one) I start to better understand why we are where we are.
-
Hell, we haven't even talked about Ekwonu... (or Bozeman, for that matter)
-
It's also apparently of prime importance to the Panthers organization that a player who's not going to be part of it any longer find a good landing spot somewhere else
-
To everyone already calling Corral some booty
Mr. Scot replied to TheoJay10's topic in Carolina Panthers
From what I hear it was, but it really shouldn't be. Matt Rhule is 100% responsible for helping Matt Corral get up to speed as a pro. He has zero responsibility to help PJ Walker find another job. If he's devoting practice time to a goal that's not part of his job while another goal that is his job suffers, he should be fired today. -
Bud Abbott just tweeted from the grave, "Wait, what?!"
-
Just remember that the process is 1,000% working. You just can't see it.
-
Yeah I know, only took him overnight to become a seven year sensation...or something
-
You can get away with saying dumb things if you're a winning coach. Heck, if you're just getting started, you might even get away with losing some games if you actually say the right things. But if you're losing and on top of that you say really stupid things? Oy
-
And remember, the harder you get coached, the harder we have to then, you know...coach
-
So even while acknowledging that more reps leads to better play, Rhule still defends not giving Corral enough reps and blames Corral for not looking like a superstar with three to four reps per practice. Yeah, this guy is a clown

Who else do you know that has three guys ahead of their rookie?
-
They already know that Darnold isn't getting anything in the trade. If they don't, they're not very bright. Likewise, there's enough film on Walker to know that he's not a good enough backup. Well, at least enough for everybody outside of Matt Rhule to know. Don't want to play Matt Corral and the regular season? Fine. But in the name of all that's holy, training camp and preseason are there for the express purpose of helping train him for the future. How the hell do you justify not doing that? And as mentioned, when it comes to Walker, the head coach of the Carolina Panthers has a lot of responsibilities. Getting Matt Corral ready to play in the future is one of them. Helping PJ Walker find a job is not. And shirking a responsibility for Corral while working on a responsibility for Walker that you don't have is just plain coaching malpractice. Dude, I get that you want to be positive about this bunch, and I get why. But from my position, I can be objective. Matt Rhule just isn't an NFL coach.
-
Apparently I can if I'm a fan of someone other than the Panthers. One thing I do know though, I can't expect it if he doesn't even get the coaching. And seriously, we weren't talking about getting him ready to start Week 1. We were talking about getting him ready to play in the second half of a preseason game. And we couldn't even do that.
