  1. Ickey Ekwonu got the #79 he was hoping for. Matt Corral takes #9, as was hinted. https://www.panthers.com/team/players-roster/ Oddly enough, the free agent signees still don't have numbers listed. (later today, perhaps?)
  2. Not that we haven't made strides in roster and (assistant) coaching, but Garoppolo has still had a lot better team around him in San Francisco than he would with us, plus an extremely quarterback friendly system. It'd be way harder to minimize his issues here.
  3. Yep. Oh Lord Heck, Witten was so bad he went back to being a player.
  4. I don't think he's smart enough to do parody. More like "makes sh-t up for attention". Igo's called him out on falsely claiming inside access before.
  5. It's when he retires. About 50 different analysts have tweeted jokes about when that will be.
  6. Joe Montana, Kevin Greene and others have tried the commentating game...and sucked at it. Being a great player doesn't guarantee you'll also be a great talker.
  7. I've used the term "football intelligence" many times. I tend to think of it as a skill set. There are cardiac surgeons who have no clue how to use a smartphone, high priced lawyers who can't change a tire and college professors who couldn't follow a sports game to save their lives. Intelligence and aptitude are related, but not exactly the same.
  8. Dead cap is primarily a measure of past bad decisions. Here's hoping we minimize the need for that in the future.
  9. Totally wrong... Plenty of athletic endeavors require intelligence to succeed. Heck, professional quarterback is considered by some to be the hardest position there is to play in sports because of the mental requirements.
  10. Olsen is phenomenal as an in-game analyst. That top spot absolutely should be, and should stay, his job.
  11. I'm not all that sure I really want to hear Tom Brady call games.
  12. Awake cause I worked late. Don't flatter yourself. You're about as important to me as Tepper is to the NFL (i.e. not at all)
  13. Jerry Richardson took an expansion team that was built from scratch to within a game of the Super Bowl in it's second year. David Tepper took over that same team with it being much better established and coming off a Super Bowl just three years prior. Under his direction, the team hasn't so much as managed a 500 season. Now the NFL looks down on Tepper as basically everybody's b-tch and they're looking to bring in a much richer owner who might actually be able to field a good team given how the Broncos are set up. Face it, dude. The guy you worship is a laughingstock.
  14. Same The story in general was said to have been based on the Cowboys. (doubt that'd surprise anybody)
  15. Fair point He took a team that was at least competitive sometimes and turned them into a perennial doormat. The other owners probably appreciate the extra wins they get playing his team.
  16. Rubin since bought ownership stakes in both the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils. He also sold a company he founded for more money than Tepper paid for the Panthers. As far as thoroughbreds, if Robson Walton buys the Broncos (very real possibility) he's going to become the new richest owner in the NFL. His net worth makes Tepper look lower middle class. That the NFL is courting him is probably a good sign they realize David Tepper isn't what they hoped he'd be.
  17. My significant other disagrees. Heck, she doesn't even acknowledge the validity of the Houston Texans. I thought about bringing up the history of the Oilers with her but decided against it
  18. Personally, I think 32 teams is enough.
  19. I don't know what the motivation is for this or if the mayor's got some kind of plan, but it seems like a weird idea to me.
  20. Not actually true. Other bidders had the funds. As I recall, Tepper actually would have been the lowest bidder. Unfortunately for us, he was who the NFL wanted so we're stuck with the Horsesh-t Model
  21. I'm okay with waiting for them to be released...and then continuing to wait
