Alexander predicts we get Garoppolo or Mayfield
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's a terrible idea. As far as plausibility though, yes it could happen. Actually given our current leadership, it being a terrible idea might make it more likely to happen. -
With Matt Rhule still retaining final roster say, I'd say he has a good chance of being right.
-
I would, specifically because it's pushing out the legacy of Sam Mills. That it's being done by a sh-tty coach and an equally sh-tty owner just makes it that much worse.
-
That makes it even worse.

Would a marketing team come up with a new team slogan on their own? I have a hard time believing somebody in marketing one day just decided, "Hey, you know what? Let's come up with something to replace 'keep pounding'"

What are the top 5 best managed teams right now?
Mr. Scot replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know that I'd put the Patriots on that list anymore. For one, their drafts have been sh-t for years. They had to go on a crazy free agency blitz to make up for that last season and still ended up one and done in the playoffs. (losing in embarrassing fashion, I might add) -
If you change it to "everything he touches having to do with football" it's a pretty true statement.
-
If it were created by the marketing team, then why haven't we seen it in... you know... marketing? Why is it that the first time we see it is in a video taken by a draft prospect? This plus it feels like I've heard Matt Rhule talk about "brand" before.
-
After years of waiting, we finally got to see Sam Mills get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Now on the heels of that, we're going to abandon the motto that's irrevocably tied to his legacy with this team? BULLSH-T!!!

I mean if you're looking for a more appropriate slogan for this version of the team, "start winning" works. If it's a slogan that's specifically meant for Matt Rhule or David Tepper though, I'd go with "kick rocks". (or something in a similar vein)
-
Maybe not. Still, given just how much he always threw himself into preparing, it wouldn't be terribly shocking to find out he was kind of burned out. Workaholics who get a taste of not being workaholics sometimes don't want to go back.
-
The video wasn't put out by the marketing team. It was taken by one of the prospects who came in for a pre-draft visit.
-
Please tell me they're not actually trying to replace "keep pounding" with this bullsh-t

It ain't goin' to a guy who didn't even like the workload of just being a pro scout. Kinda hoping Fitterer poaches his old pal Trent Kirchner from Seattle. Wouldn't mind stealing Brian Gaine or Lake Dawson from the Bills either.
-
No offense, but people will rightly ask if you can validate this.

Mel Kiper Mock Draft-We pick a QB. Pickett goes to the Steelers.
Mr. Scot replied to NCTHFL0567's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Bill Tobin actually helped his career. -
My theory has been that Fitterer wants to draft a quarterback but Rhule doesn't. A veteran QB is a more immediate benefit to him. But if Fitterer were able to talk Rhule into it, Pickett would make sense as Rhule's choice.
