Kinda wish this was referring to us... Got the chance to watch Baker at a couple of Panther practices. He was hilarious

Well, here's something different. Remember J.T. Ibe? I didn't.

Mike Minter hit Rocket Ismail so hard he was never the same. I think the thing with Rhule is not that he's consistently too soft on players or too tough on them or anything. It's just that whatever approach he seems to take in particular situations tends to be the wrong one. All of us have probably known somebody who, one way or the other, just always seemed to screw things up. At the pro level, that's Rhule. -
Couple items... Does this mean Bieniemy couldn't get an OC job either? Also... Ryan Pace is now part of the Falcons front office.

What would y'all think of hiring Ken Dorsey as HC next year?
Mr. Scot replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Granted, but Matt Rhule never should have gotten an NFL head coaching job. -

It was heard from a couple of different sources. And honestly, what we saw of the interactions between Newton and Dorsey pretty much supports the story. -
I would add that if you're trying to tell somebody you're a better fan than they are for being loyal when the team sucks ass, all you're really communicating is that you have a higher tolerance for mediocrity than they do.

Breer on Tepper, Rhule and the Panthers quarterback options
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hate to say it, but I definitely wouldn't call that an impossibility. -
Wouldn't say my life changed 180° last year, but I definitely had (and still have) real world priorities to deal with. I understand. When it comes to sports, It's fun watching people who know what they're doing. It's difficult watching people who don't.

Breer on Tepper, Rhule and the Panthers quarterback options

Breer didn't say he'd succeed. He just said he or someone on his level is likely what we'll end up with. -

To be fair, Rivera and Hurney held him back from that a lot because they were both too chicken sh-t to risk stepping on Newton's toes. When given the chance to actually be a real quarterback coach, he did wonders for Josh Allen. That said, Dorsey doesn't have anywhere near enough experience to be considered for a head coaching job. I know everybody's looking for the next Sean McVay. I'm not. -
From his latest mailbag (link) From Teppers Fake Brass Balls (@ATh2o88): What is your prediction on what the Panthers do at the QB position this offseason? And will it be enough to save Rhule’s job this fall? That’s a colorful name you’ve got there, Tepper. And I actually do think the Panthers owner, David Tepper, may have had an inadvertent impact on Carolina’s position with this offseason’s available quarterbacks. Tepper still hasn’t publicly backed Matt Rhule. My feeling is that it hurt Carolina in its ability to hire staff, for the same reason it could hurt the team with quarterbacks—a lack of certainty regarding where the team will be a year from now necessarily means less stability for everyone involved. Now, maybe even if Tepper were to say something, it wouldn’t have made a difference with assistant coaches and won’t with a quarterback. But the silence certainly didn’t help with the former and won’t help with the latter. That’s why my feeling is the Panthers will probably wind up with a quarterback who sees opportunity in Charlotte to fight for his viability as an NFL starter. Which is to say my guess is it winds up being someone like Jimmy Garoppolo. _________________________ Side Note: Did this question come from the Huddler with that same screen name?

Deshaun Watson said no thanks to Carolina Panthers
Mr. Scot replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. Regardless of your feelings on the morality of it, the idea of commiting resources (and likely significant resources) to a guy with stuff like that hanging over his head is just plain stupid. -
Ouch

Deshaun Watson said no thanks to Carolina Panthers

Person's take was that it never got far enough to ask (which shouldn't exactly be seen as encouraging to Watson fans either). Realistically speaking though, it isn't especially difficult to imagine that Watson might not want to be part of Matt Rhule's Panthers. -
There's a saying that the opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy. That's where an awful lot of Panther fans are right now. And ultimately, the fault lies with David Tepper.
-
That's a pretty big question.
-
Hope not, but we'll see. The presence of Rhule makes everything harder.

Makes me wonder if Rhule is still only doing what he did at the college level -
Losing Payton is surely gonna hurt, but they have some damn good assistants.

Yeah. Somebody with that attitude is somebody I want no part of. -

It's written into his contract so that's not likely an option. -

Yeah, that's not good. I would say Mayfield would be as talented a quarterback as we've had in a while. The mental / attitude side is what concerns me about him as well. -
Anybody but Walker
