  1. Only signed a one year deal so he doesn't actually have to be released. With the season being over, his contract is basically ended.
  2. That's a worthy comparison. Wish it weren't, but...
  3. Don't know of any indications that he won't be back. I could name you several why he shouldn't.
  4. He'd be coaching all his guys to be as versatile as possible.
  5. Look, I'm sure everybody here has an opinion on Newton's future, his past and whatever. Post it somewhere else. Threads that are written to say "goodbye / thank you" to a departing player should be respected.
  6. It's no exaggeration to say I am more down about this team than I've ever been. The thought of another year under this incompetent regime is just soul crushing.
  7. Lost by a touchdown over double the score... Fitting
  8. Our record is actually pretty good if you count the wins nobody can see
  9. Because Tampa isn't missing anyone? And was Brady quarterbacking there?
  10. You guys wanna talk to me about how our defense is really good still?
  11. Yeah sorry, you're wrong here. It was a great throw, and under duress on both ends. There's still several solid reasons why you can't continue with him as a starter, but you lose credibility when you try to spin things.
  12. Equally adept at knowing when to call time outs.
  13. It's been cited as a reason why he's only signed one year extensions over the last few years.
  14. Darnold has run well in prior games, but he isn't running well at all today. Heck, he slid behind the line of scrimmage on one scramble. Statistically, that's a sack All in all, I'd much rather have gone play action. But if you were determined to run it, you've gotta use Newton.
  15. Reports out of Pittsburgh would indicate that Colbert and Tomlin aren't exactly best buddies. There's apparently been a bit of a power struggle there.
  16. Truthfully, our line got pretty much no forward push anyway, so I'm not sure it would have mattered if it was just a straight ahead run. That said, we've seen Newton turn something into nothing in similar situations many, many times. Even knowing the end result though, I'd still have gone with Newton. It just made a lot more sense.
