  1. I doubt it was interested in anything pertaining to experience or future seasons. He needs to win now. Basically, we're back where we were under Rivera.
  2. Saw that last night...it was cool.
  3. Rhule doesn't seem to like the idea of taking rookie quarterbacks. Granted, might be different with Pickett since he has a prior connection to him.
  4. Panthers Confidential validated that we had Sewell at the top of our list and Slater as a trade down option.
  5. Look him up. You'll find a lot of good material. His dad was a high level offensive guy who coached in the NFL for 42 years. He basically grew up in the league.
  6. Morgan wasn't hired until May. By that time most of our offseason work was already done. Fitterer is primarily a college scouting guy. Morgan's background is in pro personnel. As I said, I wanna see what that combo can do with a full offseason and no hindrance from a head coach who's out of his depth.
  7. If we fire Rhule this year I think we have an excellent shot at getting Daboll. If not, I expect he gets a job elsewhere. Mind you, he's not my favorite choice (Nathaniel Hackett) but he's got enough connections to build a pretty solid staff. And yeah I'd expect he's gotta be better than Rhule
  8. Waaaayyy better O-line down in New Orleans. Probably a better roster overall honestly, but issues at the quarterback spot (which we...yeah)
  9. Funny thing is I recall Rhule saying he wanted to have someone with high level NFL experience on his staff. Then he proceeded to basically hire all but a few of his Baylor cohorts.
  10. Valid. Lady Cowboy Fan thought they should have put Siemian in (and that coming from a Cowboy fan).
  11. He doesn't, and nobody's looking at him as a head coaching candidate right now (there are way better options). As for Rob Chudzinski, seriously doubt he gets another head coaching job in the NFL anytime soon after that disaster in Houston. Hell, he's not even an OC in the pros right now (some kind of special consultant something or other at Boston college).
  12. Occurs to me I probably could have put Donte Jackson on this list too. Kinda felt like I knew what everybody would say though
  13. It's not just Fitterer. It's Fitterer and Morgan. The two of them aren't just coworkers. They're close personal friends with a great working relationship. I wanna see what that combo can do when they're not beholden to a college coach.
  14. On a related note, this new Observer writer (Williams) is really good
  15. New coach? Ja! New GM? Nein Fitterer was infinitely more qualified for his job than Rhule was for his, but Tepper stupidly gave Rhule full control. Im not in favor of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, especially since it'd mean Tepper picking both replacements. Fire Rhule, fix the power structure and let Fitterer and Morgan find the next coach.
  16. He ran all over 'em. I'll give him that. As a passer though...
  17. Two or three scouts replaced on a staff of about eight. Not that they were necessarily fired, mind you. I know Jeff Beathard, for example, followed Rivera to Washington. Off the top of my head, the only guy off the who it really seemed was being demoted was Jeff Morrow. He ran the college scouting department and had an executive level title but it felt like Rhule wanted to give Pat Stewart his job. And now he effectively has. They hired a new college scouting director and downgraded Morrow to a "consultant" type title. That's the kind of thing that usually happens right before somebody retires, which Morrow easily could. Maybe he heads to Washington but I kind of feel like she could have done that already. What I'm hoping for in the front office this year is more involvement from Dan Morgan. I'd especially love it if he'd bring Lake Dawson over from Buffalo. The guy they named college scouting director (Cole Spencer) doesn't have near the resumé that Dawson has.
  18. Heard about that. Lord have mercy How not to introduce yourself 101
  19. Not sure how you draw that conclusion out of what I said Rhule turned down the Jets job offer because they wanted to dictate some of his staff. To be honest, I've actually only heard one specific example. They wanted Gregg Williams as DC (I'd imagine Rhule wanted Snow). So knowing that he balked on taking an NFL head coaching job that he wanted in a city where he wanted to be over what might have been only a single position on his staff, how would we expect him to react to an owner (one who previously gave him near full control over everything) dictating that he make sweeping changes on one side of the ball? That's not exactly a difficult path to follow
  20. Fron the article... It wasn't so much fun for Duke coach David Cutcliffe last week, as Pickett passed for 473 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a touchdown in a 54-29 win over Cutcliffe's Blue Devils. But Cutcliffe, who knows a thing or two about elite quarterbacks, couldn't help but be impressed. "The players all do their pregame warm-up where they throw and work out, and I went out there purposely just to watch him," said Cutcliffe, who coached first-rounders Peyton and Eli Manning and more recently Daniel Jones. "I was blown away by how accurate he is. Oh my goodness, he puts it right where he wants it to be. "He throws about as good a ball, as catchable a ball, as I've seen. The ball comes off his hand exceptionally well, and the other thing is he is much more athletic and faster than you think when you get on the field with him and he's playing. He can move." When former Pittsburgh coach Jackie Sherrill spoke to the Panthers earlier this season prior to the Tennessee game, Sherrill's advice to Narduzzi was simple. "I said, 'Let him win the game for you,'" Sherrill recounted. "There's a presence about Kenny that you don't find with just any quarterback." Sherrill should know, too. He coached Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino at Pittsburgh and played in college at Alabama alongside Joe Namath and Ken Stabler, two more Pro Football Hall of Famers. "Kenny's one of those players who's really, really good, but doesn't act like it because he's never taking any of the credit," Sherrill said. "It's always his teammates that he's giving the credit to. As a player and a coach, I've been able to be around some great ones, and I'll put it this way about Kenny: If he were at Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State or anywhere, he would be the starter. That's...interesting
  21. For what it's worth, this guy seems to be listed as a safety for draft purposes. I mean, it's pretty hard to imagine a sub-200 linebacker in the NFL.
  22. Haven't read all that many mock drafts just yet, but of the ones I have seen I can't recall his name being mentioned. Last one I read from SI didn't have him either. Did have Sam Howell going to the Falcons and the Panthers taking Mississippi State OT Charles Cross.
