It's a valid question...but one that I don't think we can answer yet. Don't think we can wait past next season to answer it, though.
-
No. Juan did. That's why I quoted him, then added context.

GMs don't deal with schemes. SOP in the NFL world is coaches tell GMs the sort of players they need to run their offense, defense, whatever. The coaching staff didn't ask for any changes to the offensive line. They were pretty happy with the performance they saw last year.
-
That makes sense. All I knew is he wasn't a reliable source. Pretty sure the Brian Burns tweet got posted here as well.
-
The personnel were already here and playing great. The coaching staff was glad to have them. Then they changed schemes...
-
Given who I was responding to, it's more attention than they deserve.
-
That response wasn't to you.

I get why you want to keep the argument on simple terms, but it's also misleading. That could be deliberate or accidental. My guess is it's the former
-
I don't know if Tepper is lying or just incompetent. Same result either way, though
-
So was I...when they were there. They went away from it though. I get that after the game got out of control, but not before. Yesterday was argumably the best usage of Hubbard and Sanders they had. Would like to have seen Blackshear used more but at least it was something. Hell, mid first half, I thought that might be the story of the game
-
2023, I'd agree. Said elsewhere I think they need a veteran competitor for next year though (as opposed to strictly a mentor).
-
Thanks. You actually just bolstered my point, but I'm guessing you don't get that
-
I do,but that doesn't mean you shy away from something that can work just because someone might see you doing it.
-
Except it does... And to be clear, Olsen has had no issue criticizing the Panthers before.
-
Cam also played in a Coryell style offense that suited his skills and had way better skill players.
-
That's overthinking, though.
-
Can't be having rational discussions spoiling the "everything sucks" feat now, can we?
-
See, this read on Olsen misses the point. In saying what he's saying, Olsen is pretty strongly criticizing the Panthers for the situation they've put Young in. Why would a "Panther for life" criticize the team rather than just the quarterback they picked?
-
I laughed
-
Yeah, a lot of those points aren't really correct. It's just a lot of the same pre-draft criticisms rehashed. One is though. His footwork needs work. So did Newton's. Did it get the work it needed in an environment where he was constantly being harassed? No. What happened instead was the bad habits got reinforced. That wasn't his fault though. You really think it's fair to do the same thing to Young and then blame him for it?

I apologize if the argument this over your head. I can't fix that.
