  1. Can't think of Chubba without remembering Mrs Rhule
  2. If "most surprising" Is the criteria, it's probably gonna be one of the 95 games. Lord knows nobody had many real expectations then. Me personally though, I go with week one of 2003 vs the Jaguars. By halftime, we were all absolutely miserable
  3. My Cowboy fan wife absolutely loves watching him make great plays for someone other than her team
  4. That's one of those things where, as long as you win, you kinda appreciate it
  5. Should we go the Colts route and pump it in?
  6. I gotta disagree here, reason being that our OL coaching is significantly improved.
  7. She's not sitting on an island alone with this opinion either.
  8. Some people want a different kind of quarterback, a few of them because they can't let go of Cam Newton. They may (or in a few cases, may not) acknowledge Cam isn't coming back, but even in that scenario they still want somebody like him. (or at the very least, someone bigger and stronger than Bryce) I want better than Bryce too, but when it comes down to it, winning will always be the most important thing. It happening with a player I'm conflicted about does not diminish my enjoyment to even the most miniscule degree.
  9. I have no doubt whatsoever that they're going to seek a capable backup. I see no guarantee that player will compete for a starting role. It is possible, but it's not a certainty.
  10. There is no amount of mental gymnastics that will ever justify making the statement "we won in spite of him". I could cite a number of games where Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme, Brett Favre, John Elway and plenty of others looked like horsesh-t for a significant portion of the game, but somehow still did enough to win. That's football. The facts are: Bryce Young is an NFL quarterback. Bryce Young is legitimately capable of winning NFL games. Bryce Young deserves credit for his part in all of our wins under his leadership. ... All of these statements are validated by the simple truth of what we've seen with our own eyes. Is there still a valid argument to be made that Bryce should not be made our "franchise" quarterback. Yes there is, and I would remind everyone in this thread that I'm one of the people trying to make it. But... Those facts cited above cannot be discounted or disproved. They must be acknowledged, and any argument which doesn't loses touch with reality. And as a consequence of their validity, my attempts to articulate this argument become... ...significantly more difficult. I'll still make the argument, but that effort will not include any denial of the truth.
  11. This probably represents a lot of us...
  12. I've grown old with this team. (and probably faster than I would have as a non-fan)
  13. I never base "great performance" choices on stats. There's soooo much more to football than stats.
  14. My favorite thing about football is it's unpredictability. Jake was a living embodiment of that But man, when it was good, it made for some amazing memories. That 2003 season was just...
  15. Quirky doesn't even begin to cover it. I went to the best AI portal available and asking to explain the 2025 Panthers. It's response was "Look dude, I'm just a computer" I'm not a Bryce believer, but I can't discount or explain away wins. Making an effort to do so just ends up being nonsensical. It's chaos, but as long as it favors us...
  16. Jake pulled off some miracles that would have left Moses impressed.
  17. What they've done with Ickey boggles my mind
  18. I get it, but objectively speaking I'm not even sure Bryce is the most frustrating player on our current roster. That honor goes to Xavier Legette
  19. Brain transplant? Heaven knows he has the physical tools. Just...
  20. I came looking for Jim Mora and he's not even here
