  1. Yeah, I think the news that the 49ers were asking to interview DC candidates kinda let that cat out of the bag
  2. Ben Albright wasn't a fan of this because he noted that a lot of what makes Payton's system work are some things that Russell Wilson isn't really that good at.
  3. Given the news that Harbaugh was talking to them again, I gotta wonder if Michigan feels like that girl who keeps getting told by everybody that her guy is cheating on her but she refuses to believe it or even acknowledge it
  4. Denver being an AFC team probably does make it a little easier. Have it only knows what they would have asked from us.
  5. Panther fans hate the Broncos for Super Bowl 50... Panther fans hate Sean Payton for a lot of reasons... Those two things oughtta mesh pretty well
  6. More from Tepper on why they went with an offensive coach... Again, speaking as an established critic of David Tepper, I wouldn't argue any of that.
  7. From Schuyler Callahan (interviewing Scott Fitterer) If Reich's plan with the coaching staff played a big part in the decision "The first time through he laid out probably three or four deep at each position. And then we interviewed him about a week later and he went back and contacted coaches again and got more confirmation. Then even added to this list and said, hey, if we do this - what if we go to a passing specialist here...he went to a whole different level. Then just outside of just the coaching staff, it went to engagement, development, how to build a culture. So, there was like a second level of thinking." Reich's progress in forming the coaching staff "I know he's made a ton of calls. He laid out a plan for us in the interview process. Some teams are still playing and a lot of times you have to get a coordinator in place first to see how it all shakes out but those calls are being made non-stop. We're putting in slips left and right for coaches and we'll see where it goes. I know he's got a good plan. If option 'A' doesn't work out, option 'B' is just as good." More here...
  8. Not that I've seen, but this would make it pretty obvious.
  9. That's good for Wilks. If Vic Fangio wants that job though, he'll probably get it.
  10. My case in point for that statement was Ron Rivera's introductory presser. Rivera came out with a bunch of big balled talk about being aggressive and imposing will on others and things like that. I remember Brooklyn Decker saying that after watching that she thought he was kind of scary. And then...well That said, at least Rivera had something memorable about his. Outside of the story about his hire making me a little nervous, I can't remember a damn thing about Matt Rhule's intro.
  11. A couple of player comments... In the months to come, I suspect some variation of "I feel bad for Steve but I just want to win"; is what you'll hear from most of the players.
  12. Cary's answer was pretty accurate. As an example... That's one of those questions where I'd typically expect a response like "oh that's in the past" or "you'd have to ask them" or some such, but that's not what Reich did at all. He owned it.
  13. Yeah, none of that actually happened. Campbell actually expressed that he and other players felt like they let their coach down. At this point, it's pretty obvious that either you're trolling or you just don't know sh-t. (I'd vote for the latter)
  14. I know one of our guys here who has some friends inside as well as others have indicated that working under Rhule just left everybody depressed. The atmosphere inside the building was apparently terrible. Hell, the team didn't even put out a media guide last year (the only team to not do so). I've wondered if that had something to do with Rhule wanting to control everything including what went out In that publication.
  15. Side Note: Apparently today is Matt Rhule's birthday. The Panthers are celebrating his birthday by introducing his replacement.
  16. I remember him first calling Marty Hurney a great GM and then pulling back and saying something like 'well let's not go that far'. Shortly after that was when he made his "one of the best evaluators of college talent in the NFL" comment. He certainly has been a mess at times.
  17. And it's true... generally. Reich was actually a lot more forthcoming than I'm used to at these pressers. You'll typically hear close to half a dozen answers like "I can't get into that right now" and such. Reich gave it his best effort to answer almost everything. He also didn't shy away from answering questions about his past, including his own dismissal. Heck, he straight up responsibility and didn't blame anyone else. Those are really positive signs.
  18. Couple of different sources have speculated that the Cardinals are moving away from Payton... General belief now is that the Broncos will end up with Harbaugh or Payton...
  19. He wouldn't need his lawyers to do that. Plenty of people have seen that evidence already.
  20. The one thing that still sticks out in my mind about that particular intro was how after hearing the story of his interview, I couldn't help thinking how much it sounded like an elderly person being swindled by an insurance salesman.
  21. Video evidence... I'm a Tepper critic, but I give him kudos for this. He's capable of learning.
