  1. Hard to imagine McCoy seeing as he fired Wilks in San Diego.
  2. Listed some options here... You also wanna look at staffs from recently fired head coaches (including the Colts) and assistants that have been let go by teams like the Cowboys.
  3. I think he genuinely believed he could have whatever team he wanted and basically just ask for a blank check. (kinda like Harbaugh last year)
  4. I love Wilks. He is a true leader and an extremely respectable man. That said, I just didn't think he was the right choice to be a head coach with offenses the way they are in the NFL right now. Wish there was a way we could keep him but I understand.
  5. Only really settled on Reich when it came down to a choice between he and Wilks. I do tend to prefer older, more experienced coaches. When I saw the interview pool though, I thought there was no way we'd end up with one. Surprise, surprise
  6. Amen to that. Hell, Payton never even got a second interview.
  7. Payton is turning out to be way less important than he thought he was.
  8. Summing up the process... - Nine candidates interviewed - Wilks given a shot - No to Sean Payton and several youngsters - We're the first team to make a hire - And we have our first offensive coach in team history Whew Next up: Hiring assistants
  9. My significant other, who loves Steve Wilks, is now pissed
  10. Kinda hard to take quarterbacking talk all that seriously right now. Besides the fact that we don't have a head coach, there's a load of draft prep that hasn't happened yet.
  11. Albright and others have said Payton is pretty much out for us.
  12. Already posted elsewhere... John asks Mike Kaye for inside info on the young interviewees. Kaye mentions that none of them (Steichen included) were especially impressive whereas both Reich and Wilks "presented very well". Hell, it's even been reported that Sean Payton came away from his interview impressed with the Panthers, but it doesn't seem to have been mutual. I know you want to drive this narrative that everybody bailed on the Panthers just so you can talk sh-t, but it's stupid.
  13. Also... Duncan is a really good reporter, but saying "I heard some info" without giving that info is kind of lame
  14. Your regularly scheduled Sean Payton update...
  15. You keep trying to spin this with different guys and you're not fooling anybody. It's boring.
