Technically he is once the regular season starts, so I suppose it's accurate.
-
Would you like to argue that Rhule is handling these things wisely?
-
Nope. Pretty sure everybody understands it, but that's not something a team would ever say publicly. From Ellis Williams in The Observer (link) There is not much of a market for Darnold at the moment. That could change if a quarterback around the league were to get hurt. But the San Francisco 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo likely would be moved before a team would show interest in Darnold. That means Darnold will be with the Panthers for the foreseeable future. The team may need him if Mayfield is named the starter but gets injured. Multiple times this preseason, Rhule has mentioned the importance of depth at every position.

Our resident Ellises (John and Williams) and others, Person included, have commented (repeatedly) that trading Darnold would be extremely difficult because of his cap hit, game tape and the situation around the league. Basically, everybody knows this, including the team...unless they're delusional.
-
The same people as always...
-
You know good and well teams don't make public statements on things like that. That doesn't mean they don't know the reality.
-
Person talked about it in The Athletic shortly after the incorrect report from Ben Albright that we were looking to trade him.
-
It's already been reported that they know nobody is trading for Darnold.
-
Not exactly "camp" related, but...
-
Wait...Has anyone ever tried a two quarterback system?
-
I feel like Rhule is what Petrino would've been had he stuck around for three years. Uh uh. I've seen that movie before.
-
It wasn't McAdoo. Outside of that? Don't know.
-
Wouldn't shock me.
-
Did Kingsbury have pro experience? I'd have to look it up.
-
All of which is college coach thinking..
-
Something tells me Rhule's NFL performance is gonna make it tougher for college coaches to get pro jobs.
-
For the record, Rhule says the competition for the starting quarterback spot is still ongoing.
-
You're not. He's bullsh-tting. It's his thing. I mess with him occasionally but I never take him seriously because I know how he is.
-
Yeah...the "PJ is 2-0" thing is a running joke. Anybody that knows the game knows he's not an NFL quarterback. Go around the league, look at the teams that have qualified NFL coaches, and check how their rookies are doing. I get the trying to be positive thing, but sorry dude. Matt Rhule is terrible. The best thing that can happen for this team is his dismissal.
-
Yeah...nobody in history has successfully developed a rookie quarterback through primarily "mental reps". Our head coach is a dipsh-t.
-
I'm not positive he did. Playing next to Elflein probably doesn't help though.
-
He's not ready, but practice reps help you get ready, so let's not give him reps Instead let's give them to this other guy so he can get ready to play for someone else. Trust me, I see one in yours too
