Well, that's kind of obvious But I would point out I'm far from alone in this opinion.

"Marty Hurney is the best evaluator of college talent in the league." ---also David Tepper -
One final note from Breer's article... Breer closed this week's space with a sendoff for Kevin Colbert. It consisted of kind words from personnel guys all over the league acquainted with the long time Steelers GM. Here's what Scott Fitterer said: "He’s just a gentleman. He’s humble. He’s hard-working. He’s a scout at heart. He’s what I would think most GMs would aspire to be. He’s got just such a good presence about him. He’s so approachable. He’s a lot like Ted Thompson. Everybody respects him. You can’t find anyone to say a bad word about him. Just an unbelievable person. … The first time I met him, I think it was the Whistle Stop at the combine, like 20 years ago. I think he was with the Lions at the time. And I can say he’s the same guy now as he was 20 years ago, the first time I met with him. … He hasn’t changed a bit. Just an unbelievable person.

Which is kind of why a "flipside" sort of question applies... What happens if the seasoned NFL assistants come to understand they're serving under someone who's not as smart as they are? -
The one thing that is nagging at me about our QB pick...

Simplified route concepts are kind of a thing all over these days because it's gotten kind of hard to find college receivers that run a full route tree. -
Tis true...

I suppose it's possible, but part of the problem right now is that he still coaches like a college coach, and the pro game is a very different animal. Even the world's greatest checkers player isn't necessarily a good chess player.- 77 replies

I'm guessing he was talking about comp picks. Those start in Round 3.

Can't say I'm familiar with that one, honestly. I didn't think Dodgeball was funny.

Well if he wants 12, I've got a feeling that might be available soon.

That's a new one to me.

O'Brien is a longtime personnel guy who used to work with Pat Stewart in new England. Giants also fired former Panthers pro personnel guy Mark Koncz.

No I didn't

You hear DeAndre Hopkins got suspended?

I don't know that it's that. I'd say more so that they had more than one QB they were comfortable with (which the article confirms). I'd add i's not that they didn't have the capital as they didn't want to spend it.

Yeah, but next year's predictions will be accurate for sure

Good insight into the Panthers trade for Corral

Gee, I wonder who this is -
We have skill position players that are built for a WCO. We have an OC with a primarily WCO background. But we no longer have an ideal WCO line. That's not to say it can't work, but I find it... curious.

Foles was drafted in the 3rd round too, Brees in the second. Here's a full table of Super Bowl quarterbacks that includes what round they were drafted in. Draft history: Super Bowl Quarterbacks

There was also that guy in the 6th, and that one undrafted guy...

Possible. Can't say I agree but hey, we believed in Darnold. Also possible, but it's not like Carroll is getting any younger (he's 70 if I remember correctly).
