IDK. I would say his his floor is higher than almost anyone mocked ahead of him. Most of the guys mocked in the top 15-20 as DE/EDGE guys have astronomical bust factors, IMO.

True but I don't think we will be making big, splash signings on the DL in free agency. It will be much of the same as we have been doing with attempts in the draft to get long term solutions.

I am pretty skeptical of him getting a big paycheck. I suspect the Huddle is going to find out that the league as a whole doesn't view him quite the same way we do. He is definitely better than Yosh Nijman but I remember all the glowing things said about his ability to play(some predicting he would start here lol) and he was easily the worst offensive lineman on the roster by a pretty substantial margin.

The bottom line is that we can't afford to have top 10 paid talent constantly not on the field. So, hopefully we can come to a good agreement for both parties that doesn't make him a top 10 paid guy, as he hasn't played like it consistently enough. I would even be fine with a short term(2-3 year) pretty incentive laden deal that could allow him to get a mega contract with his next deal.

I would say not consistently but he has been able to shut down his side of the field at times. I don't think he really fits as well with the Evero scheme. I also don't have an issue with him not being a crazy high INT guy. Being a shut down guy is more valuable than a guy like Donte Jackson, who is an insane ball hawk but because of that gets beat quite a bit.

TBH, he is still a JAG, even if he did get better. Not a guy I would spend much money on.

I hate to say that I did like Surtain better at the time. Obviously liked Slater more. But, ultimately Horn is a good player. He will just have to understand that it isn't reasonable to get a paycheck like Surtain did. Maybe sign a shorter term deal as a "prove it" contract? I am not sure what to do with him. If he wants to get paid like a top 10 CB(#10 is at $19.1 mil), I just don't see that as reasonable. If he can come down to $13 mil-ish(still top 15) maybe that isn't absurd.
