That would be a valid example for most games that weren't versus Falcons.

I mean, the obvious answer to not getting your poo pushed in each week really has nothing to do with the defense. You have to change what you do offensively. Be a ball control offense that wears the other teams defense down while keeping your defense off the field as much as possible. Dominate TOP. Are we gonna make big strides in the W/L category that way? Probably not. It might just slim the margins up slightly. If you just want to not allow as many points, that's really the sole way that is going to happen.

You have repsonded to literally every single thing that I have said with either wholly unrelated "facts", scenarios that had zero to do with our game Sunday, blantantly lying about the game itself to support your "facts", etc, etc. And you want me to go on fact hunts for...what exactly? If you have overwhelming data showing that it's a far more winning strategy to pass the the ball as much as possible with a poor defense or to ignore the obvious weaknesses of an opponent, I mean I am all ears.

I mean....we have lived through these eras multiple times. How soon we forget.
-
Now it's about QB mobility. That funny. Look man, you do you. I would encourage you to occasionally tune into our games once in a while. You should be able to see the blantantly obvious.

The point would still stand. They are playing relatively as effectively in those situations. I will also point out that Horn is a little bit better more sure of a tackler than Jackson. 10% Missed Tackle Rate versus 12.1%. Jackson has played fairly well, about at his statistical averages historically. Consequently, this is the worst season statistically that Horn has ever had(which he has also played in very few games in his career, less than 2 seasons total). Horn has generally regressed to Jackson's level, which is not bad but not elite.

We do change up the blitzes. We have changed the blitzers, as well. I am not sitting here saying that Evero is an elite DC but there is no DC in the NFL that could pull this unit out of the bottom 10 in the NFL. They put together a bottom 5 unit and they are doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing, sucking real hard. There is no answer. We can try shuffling PS players every week to just burn pointless cap money. We can try trading all of our future draft picks to mortgage our future. This isn't a 2024 problem that is able to be fixed. We are bad. It just is what it is. If I am Canales, I probably also throw Evero under the bus to take some heat off me. He isn't a Canales guy. It's an easy scapegoat.

You have changed your "facts" multiple times across this thread. To what end, I have no idea. It's a very simple concept I keep stating that you just keep replying with inaccurate scenarios not related to our game. You take advantage of an opponents weakness, especially when....it's already working. I can't make it any more simple for you, my man. Feel free to watch our game from Sunday and you will see what I mean.

We are currently substantially worse at both pressuring the QB and coverage on blitzes in 2024. Blitz: 129.7 Opposing QB Rating with 1 sack Base Defense: 101.4 Opposing QB Rating with 5 sacks Evero is looking at our success with blitzing, that's why we aren't doing it much. If you remember, a lot of our blitzing attempts are laughably bad. I am surprised you didn't notice. It's very obvious.

See, you say that but that's how you get dunked on even worse than we are currently. The options here are basically terrible or more terrible. I am not choosing more terrible.

Interesting take on Evero and why no change in scheme
kungfoodude replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Get used to it. It's probably gonna get even worse at the injury rate we are on. -
See, now you are changing your story from "down all game." This is just your personal bias.

I watched the WR show on Netflix. He seems like he doesn't accept losing very well but ultimately he just wanted a less stressful situation. I don't see how New Orleans or DEFINITELY NY are going to be less stressful than the Raiders. I get that the Raiders don't have poo for a QB but...damn.
-
Yes, that is how taking advantage of your opponents weaknesses works. It's certainly complicated by our own weaknesses and the stream of errors but people are having some amazing recollections of what actually transpired in this matchup. We led the game until 6:10 remained in the 2md half. We scored to pull within a one score game(28-20) at the 0:10 mark of the 3rd quarter. We were driving for that potential game tying score at 10:54 of the 4th quarter when Dalton's pass was intercepted by ATL who drove 84 yards in 5:09 to take a 34-20 lead. This potential scoring drive which we basically were running all over them, I might add. So, basically had we likely just, IDK....kept running the ball maybe this is an entirely different outcome. Some of you guys apparently thought you were watching the Bears game. This was far closer to the Cincy game in which a few key plays kept us from potentially winning. As I said, the opponent was a bottom 5 rush defense. Act accordingly.
-
They literally did not have the lead the whole game. I am not surprised this was missed by you because it doesn't appear you watched it.
-
It's not really necessary. There are better and more versatile options for part time lead blockers in the modern game.

Atlanta passed for over 500 yards on 58 passing attempts to 18 rushing attempts against team that is bottom 5 in pass defense and top 12 in rushing defense. They rushed for 225 yards on 38 attempts to 30 passing attempts against a team that is bottom 5 in rushing defense and 23rd in pass defense. Notice how they adjusted their offensive gameplan to suit the opponent? That's what smart football looks like. We don't do that.

Davante must be seriously scarred by some of his QB experiences. Either that or he is just a weird fuging guy.
-
I mean that is great in theory but his struggles are usually him not being able to withstand stronger, more physical players. He has to be exceptional in terms of technique to overcome some of that. IMO, his best value is what he has been for us. High level backup OL that can fill in at multiple spots.
-
I am looking at our history especially recent, which is rather unkind. Currently we have no idea how many long term starters we have. Mingo was pitched as such a player last season, he is quite clearly a bust. Same as TMJ before him. These guys are all way too early in their careers to be calling any shots, positively or negatively. We have two very good recent examples of this. Jeremy Chinn was widely regarded by us all as being a postential franchise defender. Instead, he is not longer on our team and never ended up reaching his initial heights. Chuba Hubbard was widely hated and mocked his first couple of years. He is now statistically one of the best rushers in the NFL and he has dramatically improved in most aspects of his game. I still believe this was a bad draft(for several reasons) but we are at least a full season(likely more) away from knowing. We just differ on our perspectives of franchise direction. I don't think it has tilted upwards and you believe we are on the rise.

Would You Get a QB in 2025 draft, or not??
kungfoodude replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think there is any rush on QB minus maybe make another offer to Dalton(at a reasonable price). If there is a high caliber QB available in the draft(seems less likely this class), then take one. If there is a decent gamble at QB in the 4th round or lower, fine, take a swing. I would much rather keep Dalton than get Darnold. We have seen Darnold look competent with a high caliber offense. That isn't here and I don't think that's a successful path moving forward. Let someone else give him the Matt Cassell/Jimmy G type deal and figure out the truth. -
Well the situation for RB's is quite good. I would rather he play so we can see him alongside Chuba. If Chuba looks like the far better back, it might change the calculus in the offseason(maybe).

Gotta put SOME pressure on the man. That was a dumb move by Buffalo.
