  1. Trading up in general hasn't been our friend, as we are all well aware. The biggest issue I had with the XL trade(aside from the fact that I wasn't high on the player), was that the trade itself was pure hubris. You flush an asset(valuable or not) for the potential of a 5th year option. Basically calling your shot that this won't be a bust. But....it damn sure looks a lot closer to a bust than a shrewd move after year one. I don't think even the most negative poster here could have predicted XL's hands and basic catching ability to be as poor as they were. And I understand the argument that sure he might just need some development time. But his peers in that class didn't seem to need it. DJ Moore taken at 24 didn't seem to need it. This is why I get so frustrated with the ignorant poo that this franchise does. It's literally locked and loaded as "smartest guy in the room" vibes, meanwhile you have guys like Howie Roseman out there just straight fuging crushing without top 10 after top 10 pick. It's infuriating.
  2. Would love to have the guy, don't get me wrong, but he has never at any point consistently played like an elite WR. Why would we pay him elite money?
  3. IMO, as a guy that wants McMillian if he is at 8, there shouldn't be anyone in this top 10 we should be hyperfocused on if they fall minus perhaps Hunter. Trade down or BPA it up. Don't be stupid. Don't pine to be the smartest guy in the room. Just get a good fuging player. Simple as that.
  4. This class is so deep at TE. People need to quit being so hyper focused on Warren, who may prove not to even be the best TE in a very loaded class.
  5. I just don't see him extending here unless we offer best-at-position money. I just don't see that as being justified, TBH.
  6. God yes. That's how bad this is. It ain't praise of Marty by any stretch, it's just how terrible these Tepper years have been. I mean, literally look at the 2018-2020 drafts. They are definitively better than any draft since. And those 18-20 drafts ain't exactly something to write home about. If you had told me in 2016/2017 during the height of the Gettleman vs. Hurney Worst GM fights in here that we would have successive GM's that said, "Hold my, beer" I would have said you are nuts. But...here we are.
  7. I guess once he got his Cup, he only cares about being the top paid player in the NHL. Well, good luck with that after these series of fiascos. You will have(presumably) turned down three different high caliber, winning franchises attempts to sign you to top 10 NHL contracts. Enjoy San Jose for $10.5 mil or however it turns out this summer, you fuging loser.
  8. Sounds like the trade to Dallas may be off. Wonder if he also couldn't come to an agreement on pay with Dallas? If so, he is royally fuged.
  9. But this is so classicly a move that goes against the Panthers. We have almost never had this sort of move pan out. It's not accidental, it's not bad luck, it's piss poor management. I did not like the XL pick and he did little to make me change my mind. Until he can come out and actually show massive progress with basic WR catching skills, this one is not headed in the right direction. But, last year's atrocious draft is already done. We have the opportunity to learn and actually draft like a real, functional NFL team this offseason. Let's not squander it.
  10. That was when I think all of us had considerably more faith in the FO we have. If you look at recent trades with the Bears, they have "won" every one of them. Be wary if they call, it's likely to lead to a dry fuging for us.
  11. Which is such a stupid and arrogant move. "Oh we already know this pick we are making is great. Watch!" We are such a fuging stupid team.
  12. Depends on price. Would love to have him but we can't basically be the new Saints and mortgage the future on such a terrible team. Also doesn't make a lot of sense for us. He is 30. It's very possible he is either retired or significantly into the backside of his career by the time we are a contending team.
  13. That is a fuging insane price. INSANE. I will be done with Morgan if that happens.
  14. Swear to God, I would send him down to the AHL if he did that.
  15. This guy has been a fuging nightmare. I can't wait to hear the booing and jeering he gets every time his overrated and soon to be overpaid ass gets when he comes back to Raleigh.
  16. I basically just stand or lay down. That has helped a lot. I generally don't sit down outside vehicles or planes. Pretty much ever.
  17. We have the luxury of really leaning on BPA since our roster is so atrocious. There is little reason to be reaching on anyone in this draft. There is not a single individual player in this entire draft that is going to lead to a big swing in W's/L's next season(don't feel like I am going out on a limb). Just get MFers who can play and, more importantly, WANT to play and excel.
  18. Someone punched it up pretty good. Thanks to the mod that did. I was just surprised this didn't exist in the main board yet.
  19. I think the issue is that with not a ton of cap space and arguably the most roster holes in the entire NFL, we have to be fairly selective about overpaying for guys. I would say overpaying at safety for a guy that has an above average chance of underperforming is not a great idea without a very clear plan on overhauling the front 7. Generally you do want to build from the inside out on the defense or offense. Or at least that is my preference, anyway. It will be interesting to see what happens. Lots of smoke with us to Holland
  20. The draft compensation is fine, we will squander that anyway but $30 mil is nuts. I like DK alot but he really isn't an elite WR. He's an elite athlete and good WR.
  21. I have sciatica flare ups fairly frequently. It's manageable, although extremely painful. The biggest issue would be if it is causing "dead leg" or numbness, which I do get sometimes. That would really impact your play. Outside that, it's just miserable pain.
  22. We have to overpay for talent. That's the life of a cellar dweller. Not many really want to be here, you have to pay. Hence why our poor drafting history has fuged us so hard.
  23. $45 mil AAV is what I had the deal pegged at. I think that is about right, $40-45 mil.
  24. I think the truth is not many of the more attractive free agents are going to be interested in us without a massive pile of money. We are basically the Jets minus the massive attraction of the NY market
  25. Yeah, I suspect this, as well. Lots of big contenders want a guy like that too.
