Stefanski just came off plenty of success so I think he will be safe. Watson is going to be the guy that catches all the heat there. Taylor I think will be fine, save a Panthers-esque sort of finish to the year. Pederson is probably on a much hotter seat. They were supposed to be ascending and finally have a fairly talented team on both sides of the ball but they are just miserable. I think he totes that blame if that continues the rest of the year.

We will see how it goes. I don't have super high hopes. If you are trying to develop a player and make him good, constantly creating turmoil usually leads to more struggles. The situation is actually finally stable so I really don't understand any thought of tinkering here. He's playing quite well, finally. This seems like Madden-esque tinkering without a real solid purpose.

Wow. This does smell of fugery. Methinks someone in the Rodgers camp got wind and ratted him out.

Bozeman was seen getting ragdolled far, far too often in pass protection. That isn't something we have seen with Corbett at all. Sure Ikey might be better at guard but if he is an above average LT(and he is playing like that) then why does that matter? Moton isn't an elite RT nor has he ever been. Is there any reason to move him?
-
Bozeman is an absolute turnstile. Corbett is an upgrade, without a question. However he is also dinged up a lot so you need a second option. Also, he's 29 so maybe getting a future guy(like maybe Zach Frazier in the 2nd round of the 2024 deaft) is a good idea. I guess I am just not seeing the issue with Ikey at the moment. He's solid in pass protection and dominant in the running game. What did you want? Trent Williams? That isn’t something you are likely to get unless you draft that guy. Joe Alt maybe? Okay, well then draft another LT with this future top 5 pick. Hunt to LT definitely does not seem like a great idea. He is a true guard, IMO. I don't think he is a guy that is going to excel at that.

Yeah Chuba was literally one of the only bright spots on the whole team last season, IDK where this "terrible" is coming from outside his first season or two. Hs is one of the extremely few guys we have EVER had actually develop.
-
Eh, I am not so quick to throw him out with the trash. I don't think Saleh would do appreciably better with this lot, for instance. Now, Saleh might have a much better eye for talent. I don't want to see him fired but I am not gonna riot in the streets if he ends up elsewhere. I will view it a lot like Joe Brady. Hs has conclusively proved he was a scapegoat but hasn't necessarily lived up to the label of McVay/Shananhan-esque wonderboy.

Panthers Tankathon (Week 6 Edition)
kungfoodude replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
TBH, trading down is usually where we start fuging up really badly. Don't overcomplicate it. Just get safe(ish), elite talent in the top 5. -
I might buy that as a theory if Chuba didn't almost rush for almost 1000 yards behind an absolute dumpster fire line last season. Not to mention the fuging resources already tied up in that bum Miles Sanders. There is really zero excuse for drafting Brooks minus him having a HOF career.
-
Moving him to guard just isn't going to happen as was previously posted. We spent mega loot on OG's so that issue is settled forever. He has also been pretty dependable this season, as well. I don't see any need to make any changes. I think that left side will be fine. The right is probably gonna get their asses handed to them without Moton and with the center being who the fug knows? I feel bad for poor Hunt.

Corbett was doing averageish. I would also like an upgrade there too but that unit, when healthy has been extremely effective and arguably the best unit we have had in 10-15 years. Ikey looks a lot better this year. Not allowing as many pressures/sacks/etc and an absolute monster in the running game. I don’t know that he ever becomes a Trent Williams type guy but if he settles into that Moton area of being a long term, dependable guy, I am fine with that too. His path to guard is essentially closed anyway with the contracts we signed this offseason.
-
I mean....this is objectively the worst talent we have ever fielded as a franchise on that side of the ball. There are maybe two players on that entire unit that are above replacement level. A lot of our starters would be 2nd stringers, at best, elsewhere. Our injury replacements are PS guys.
-
Yeah but the NFL is always slow to realize that type of thing. Look how long guys like Parcells lasted past their prime or even Norv Turner. Trust me, Jerry Jones would be popping 8 little blue pills to know Bill was looking. It only takes one.
-
IDC the base we use so much but the people need to change. As you said, we don't have the personnel to run any sort of effective defense, even at full strength.
-
The OL is there but the RB isn't. But what did it ultimately matter? Chuba is #5 in the league in rushing yardage. If you invest so much in an OL, this is typically where you save money/resources is at RB.
-
I mean if no one in that building steps up to point out the absolute disaster of a roster we have prior to firing Evero, IDK what to really say. I guess we really are doomed at that point.
-
I think he will get at least two more full offseasons. If we are still drafting in the top 10(which seems almost assured), I think he gets canned too. We will never know the full story of the dynamics of this whole pile of poo, but I do think we will very much struggle to get quality candidates for that GM role after Morgan is gone.
-
Well they always talk him up as a Cowboys coach and imagine having to deal with Jerry. I am a little skeptical of Bill coming back. We will see.
-
It's probably better for Saleh. That ship isn't likely to be righted. Watch them name Hackett the interim and the full Rodgers takeover be completed.

Scouting Department vs. Front Office
kungfoodude replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah and this last draft is heavy on analytics takes and pretty light on "eyeball" takes, IMO. -
He isn't playing awful, in fairness. He just seems to be off script with the receivers and then he starts pressing and making mistakes. It doesn't help that he does the standard Rodgers pouting when things aren't going his way. His chemistry with the rest of the offense seems terrible.
-
Rodgers is going nowhere with them. I would be very reticent to jump onto that bandwagon as a young offensive minded coach. It would be interesting to see Belichick consider that job.
