Panthers Free Agent Signings Thread
kungfoodude replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, the Riot Report review on Elflein wasn't exactly stellar either. IMO, they seemed like reaches at the time. We will have to see if they see something that we don't. We know that Whitehead and Weatherly were both examples of big misses from the last offseason. Anderson was a big hit, though. -
Probably not enough for him. He should be a hot commodity for "win now" teams.
-
It depends on the overall plan. I guess we will see what the overall plan is. Hard to say at the moment.
-
I think it just depends on what the overall plan is. If it is "Watson or bust" then there isn't a rush. If the plan is "Anyone but Teddy" I could see a reason to start looking around.
-
Fuller to Miami is interesting. Does that change their view on the draft now?

ESPN could already have had the market cornered on streaming had they seen the writing on the wall years ago with satellite and cable subscriptions dropping. I mean....YEARS ago. I would have been an ESPN streaming subscriber back in the day. Now.....f*ck 'em. Don't need 'em. Not interested in paying Disney money, either. -
IDK about that. A lot of that depends on what we plan to do with Teddy. If the plan is to jettison him come hell or high water, I'd probably look at Mariota now if he is affordable. At worst, huge boost at the #2 QB.

I cannot recall who. Someone in here was trying to convince me he was gonna get a $8-10 mil/year deal or some such nonsense.
-
Interested to see the financials on this, since I was assured he'd get a big deal.
-
Agreed. He has a decade left at the very, very best. Watson may have 15 years
-
It was an appropriate response to the OP.
-
Eh. IDK about great. Could definitely be an improvement. Still some holes to fill.
-
Well they didn't want him that badly if they wouldn't pay $6 mil.
-
Yeah, we appear to be hell bent on creating pass rush pressure. Not a bad thing.
-
Looks like a depth signing, basically. ST and rotational guy. But, after we got rid of Obada and Kerr, we needed some bodies.
-
I initially read this as "Megan Fox."

Moving from Burns and Chinn in our front seven to Reddick, Haynes and Miller would probably result in the worst front seven in franchise history. That is a disturbing thought.
-
He is a pretty small pass rush specialist that was a one year wonder. I think that his open market value was likely about what we got him for or a little less.
-
Agreed. We have needs at OLB. Perhaps he replaces Chinn.
-
We can hope.
-
One year wonder to a one year deal. I can dig it.

Agreed. At least he looks like decent depth now. One thing we are sorely lacking, is decent depth.
