If the Panthers beat the Seahawks (Week 17) but lose to the Bucs (Week 18): Both teams finish 9-8, but Panthers win the division on tiebreakers (head-to-head sweep or better divisional record). If they lose to the Seahawks but beat the Bucs (Week 18): Panthers finish 9-8, Bucs at most 9-8 (or less), so Panthers win the division outright. In both cases where they go 1-1 down the stretch, they still take the NFC South because of today's win giving them the crucial tiebreaker advantage.
