well, like I keep saying, the fact college football sucks this year at the top makes my point less clear. Clemson doesn't really factor on my take. The format does benefit the ACC though IMO. SEC/BIG10 have directed this thing to where we are, and in the end they are unhappy because it still benefits the other guys. The auto byes really make it dumb IMO. Because in a year with a strong top.....you could end up with strong teams having to pointlessly play there way into the playoff because of byes given to weaker teams and risk needless injury. So they might end up where they belong, but we don't get the game we wanted because they lost people to get there. I mean, I might can tolerate the 12 team but they got to re-format the seeding I guess is my primary point.
-
more teams can potentially win this year as a product of the top being so much weaker vs prior years though. CFP struggled most years to find 4 teams that all belonged in the same tier. I think if the top was stronger, it would like worse. Especially with the auto byes and how that ends up skewing the bracket.
-
as of right now, the new 12 team format is dumb and bad.....I don't see the games playing out in a way that changes that. 4 team while flawed and bad, seems better. If we had some legit great teams this year like in prior CFP seasons, it would highlight just how bad the 12 format as it stands is.

we all know times have been weird of late. I'm surprised that's the only info he brought back from the future. Probably just baby stepping it. That info alone is tough for so many.

I didn’t want to start a new thread about how it seems pretty clear that time travel into the future does appear to in fact exist ….so I’ll just share it here. Next most logical place. https://www.si.com/college/clemson/football/espn-analyst-sam-acho-picks-clemson-tigers-to-win-college-football-playoff

when we look back, football will have really ruined a lot of great things about college athletics.

this just makes me think of all those that lecture folks when we "question" ownership, GMs, coaches, etc. The "you aren't qualified to critique/question" folks.

DJ Moore set the franchise back YEARS by taking his helmet off.

If Tommy Jone never happens, then there is never a Matt Moore -
Bruh. That’s not how real football works. You saw that with Sanders and his first year at Colorado. We also have seen NFL coaches come to college. It takes time. It most definitely will take some time for Bill. The aren’t auto natty contenders year 1 lol. Clemson returning the full team. Developing dudes. They got dudes right now prepping for this playoff game that can’t even play yet. Belichick might work but it’s going to take time to build that program up with the type players he needs/wants. It doesn’t just instantly work right away because Bill exist and you sign a player in the portal. Most portal kids, most examples, are dudes that weren’t panning out to begin with. Bill isn’t portaling a roster full of studs that are going to all fit what he does and will mesh with his style right away. Going to most likely take a year or 2 for UNC to get it together even if the experiment works. Cupboard pretty empty for Bill. O and D. Your version of Jeanty was the one shinning star….and he gone

I’d say the table would be set for Clemson to make an honest run at competing for a title next year. He only projects to lose about 3-4 starters right now. Almost the full team should be back….and Dabo finally going to dabble in the portal this year a little.
-
I mean, nothing more consistent in college football really than Dabo bruh. It is what it is. SEC is an overrated conference this year. Specifically at the top. Hell, BIG10 too. Well that PAC12 Oregon team is the most impressive BIG10 team. Odd season for Mr BIG12, I mean ACC guy to channel his inner Paul Finnebaum. bring receipts for what? That the #5 Texas team somehow wins a home game they are double digit favorites in? And finally has a good win they can hang their hat on if they beat Clemson? It’s a called upset pick boss. Someone getting upset. I’m just picking my team is as good as any to pull it off. Someone losing to a team they “shouldn’t”. Bank on that in the CFP. That’s the point of it.
-
Sorta like some other QBs that might be taking the field… one team playing with house money, no pressure and is better coached for the moment. The other is an overrated SEC team named Texas. maybe they come out and play a good game and beat Clemson. If they play a good game they win. Maybe they come out and play meh like they so often do and let Clemson hang around like Vandy, Arkansas, etc in the 4th. Or just have a game like vs OU but don’t luck out with the other team being equally bad. I’m rolling the dice that upsets are going to happen because the top of college football is as weak as we have seen it in some time. Someone going to pick the wrong day to have a bad day. So I’m simply picking Texas as the one that flops. We have seen time and time again this season that the 2025 football powers at the top aren’t consistent enough to handle catching a team having a good day on the wrong day. Ewers falls to 0-2 all time vs the Texas boy named Klubnik. Who has one of his good days and makes some sneaky plays with his legs

Heard a lot from you this year. So that makes me feel better. My track record holds up well vs you #undisputedscientificdata

How did they mess up so bad with Mayfield and Darnold,
CRA replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Joe Brady was actually really good between the 20s here. Lot of dudes trended above their norms with him. What Joe Brady lacked as a newb playcaller....was proper leadership above him to help steer him. As Teddy pointed out. -
Time for predictions. Here are mine. No homerism and all backed by undisputed scientific data. Notre Dame 27 Indiana 16 Penn State 27 SMU 23 Texas 20 Clemson 21 OSU 24 Tenn 31

I see what you did here.... a sly pro PJ Walker thread. -
I think some of that is Bill Belichick often struggled w/ QBs who play outside of a set structure and could ad lib. Watson had a lot of success vs Bill. Cam did. Think Lamar has.

Panther Ring of Honor. end of list. His one bright spot is celebrating the accomplishments under the prior owner. -

Sam Darnold and Baker are basically the same dudes they have always been....only changes have been what has existed around them. In Carolina, they had bad coaching and bad talent. So you get bad side of that equation. If Sam Darnold was in Carolina and 70% of the targets went to Justin Jefferson, a RB or a TE......he would have sucked less here. We didn't have the means to allow that. -
2011 they are doing the same G working w/ C snap work MVP season, same G working w/ the C snap work. It's not literally every play. But it's in most of the base O for Cam in Carolina. And that's with a STUD center.
-
Think it's just a product of living in the shotgun. They snapped the ball like that with Cam most of his career in the shotgun. G looking back and tapping the C. Highlight reel from 2011 or 2015 show it.
-
I don't get how we pick and choose sometimes. I mean, Brooks was taken in Canales' first draft. Hubbard was paid midway through Canales' first season. Is he not picking them?
-
Evero is a victim of lack of talent. He runs a 3-4. That's what he is brought in here to run. Then we go into the season with a glaring lack of talent even when fully healthy. That was a front office decision. Then, he loses his best overall defender and key DL player in Brown at the kickoff of the season.
