  1. He is a slow WR that can't get open. I don't think that is going to aid us. Is he athletic? Sure. But the Rioring Riot podcast basically summed it up. You have to scheme him up and do some sort of gadget play that CMC or DJ Moore could do better. And then it gets really predictable when you finally trot him out there because he will be coming out there for a play that requires you to scheme up something goofy. Meanwhile, you could just have Moore or CMC do it. Do it better. And it be less obvious to the D. Unless he can put on a headset and manage the game for us. He doesn't matter.
  2. I mean that is where we are inevitably headed. The Matt Rhule era will be a pointless one. Basically, highlighted as a period where we did nothing but lose and paid CMC mega bucks. New HC will come in and do an actual rebuild. Get a QB. Build a roster/identity that has nothing to do with what Rhule bumbled around with for a couple years.
  3. I don't see Rhule firing Snow. They are one IMO. Like LG said, he will need/want Snow when he goes back to college. and my pick for interim remains Tabor. Wilks my second choice. The college rah rah BS schtick doesn't work in the NFL. Corny dad humor? Who knows.
  4. I mean, the loss is on Matt Rhule. He had a very poorly prepared team. He had a very poor gameplan on both sides of the ball. He had poor in game management. That's reality. Now, could we of walked out with a win if the refs did their properly on the final drive? Sure. But too much gets put on final drives scenarios and refs. Refs impact the game w/ bad calls from start to finish. You can't leave it up to the refs to get one call right or wrong at the end. What Carolina did for 59 minutes got them the L.
  5. They created it. It was talked about right before the season was started. Baker and his C weren't getting the starter reps they needed (as well as the rest of the OL)....and the fumbled exchange issue got plenty of talk going in as something to watch. Because we saw it the one time we saw Baker in the preseason. The ball on the ground with a bad exchange. It was discussed when Rhule was being bashed for his bogus competitions and how it was robbing people from the reps/chemistry they needed. It was predictable. And predicted.
  6. I would expect a gameplan that doesn't produce the fewest rushing yards of the Matt Rhule era. Against a meh Browns team featuring a backup QB. With a healthy Carolina roster. That was a horrible game plan. It was horribly called game. And the team was clearly unprepared going into the season. I simply expect we should acknowledge why we had the fewest rushing yards of the Matt Rhule era. The answer is on the Panthers sidelines. * largest deficit was 13 points.
  7. well, it's just beating the same dead horse. Everyone knows the why. Even the people who get their kicks acting like Matt Rhule isn't the primary issue in Carolina. We aren't well coached. That's the answer to the why.
  8. yep, Matt Rhule was and remains primary issue #1. The micromanager who has never seen good offense in his entire coaching tenure. until we solve the Matt Rhule issue, there is no solving the problem by only addressing underlying issues.
  9. Hard to say, I mean you don't really know what a schedule really is until it all unfolds. But going in, you would think the window for Rhule to get some wins would be early. Schedule appears to get harder if teams are what we generally think they are. I
  10. this game felt a lot like the Vikings game last year. Complete poo for 3 quarters and then somehow found ourselves in the game late.
  11. Football has been around for a long time. If you lose because of the refs. You still lost. We put ourselves in position for the refs to be able to "impact" the game. Because our team was unprepared, we had a bad gameplan, and stunk all game. Matt Rhule post game said he didn't believe the Browns could get in FG position in a minute. He must not watch a lot of football then. Because NFL teams routinely pull that off at the end of games. and the dope was left at the end of the game w/ a timeout. Should of used it like the Broncos did week 1 in the Super Bowl rematch. Yes, the refs sucked. Yes, they botched calls that last drive. Refs botch calls. They do it all game, in every game. In the end the better team won. It is what it is. But it would have been nice if they at least got the fake spike right. Maybe if Matt Rhule knew how bad they botched it like he said....he should of gone apeshit in game on the refs about it and tired to get something done. Didn't see that happen either. That was the game. And he didn't seem to care that much IMO.
  12. the opening 3 games is the easiest window on our schedule. and I think the Giants will be favored to beat us this upcoming week.
  13. who knows. week 1 and early in the season has generally been the best Matt Rhule's teams have looked during his tenure. It generally gets worse the longer teams get tape on his teams.
  14. his best carry on the day was a fumbled shotgun/pass snap too. It wasn't even a run play.
  15. I think the O will remain an issue too overall. Rhule has never seen good offense. McAdoo's was run out of the league once he showed what he would do unmanaged with an offense. Our OL still isn't solid. And Baker is hit or miss. Better than what we have but he isn't really an elevator of those around him. I expect good days and bad days. But I don't see anything consistent about our O even after they settle in.
  16. We can’t stop the run and we can’t rush the passer without blitzing.
  17. 54 total rushing yards - the fewest yards on the ground of the entire Matt Rhule era. *and we had a fully healthy roster/CMC #rockstarOC
  18. I mean seems like just getting clean snaps from C is to Baker would be where I would start. How many run plays did they go behind Icky? I mean that is his early strength. This staff just doesn’t seem to get stuff amateurs see. Yet they have a pass heavy game 1 plan against a team that can’t throw and leave Icky on an island. Garrett will embarrass a vet.
  19. Icky also faced his toughest task of the season week 1…with a weak gameplan for the task. I don’t think Icky is the problem. Think a good staff would have given him a full preseason of starter reps and then had a good plan for week 1.
  20. Prepared his team better going in. Had a better game plan overall. the team wasn’t ready and that is on Matt Rhule. and then at the end he gave them too much time and played it too safe. Yeah, we got screwed on that last drive but Rhule was perfectly cool creating that environment for it to happen. and there we sat at the end with a L…..and a pointless timeout in his pocket.
  21. I do. They still think it is an awesome program/job and that it is only a matter of time for them to be back. I think Rhule would be a decent hire. But he is a tough sell to an alumni base like Nebraska given how bad he has looked of late. It’s a tough sell to the alumni in a NIL world.
