  1. you go thread to thread to thread whining that people are talking about Panther football in a way you don't like.
  2. I didn't say he listened to the huddle. I said they listen to noise. I said, we, also like the local media are all % players in the collective noise. The collective noise has always proven to be impactful if it gets loud enough. Guys like Tepper don't like being national laughing stocks. Billionares don't get into professional sports to be looked at as clowns. It's largely about money. But guys like Tepper also get into pro sports because of ego and status. Billionares competing w/ billionaires. Then don't bother opening up a thread about something you don't want to read. Huddling doesn't have to be that hard. OP put a big clear thread title on it. Is this thread beating a dead horse? Ok. But so are the posters going thread to thread complaining about other posters pooping on things that deserved to be pooped on. It's the offseason. There is still only so much people can talk about. Start a better thread.
  3. But there are 2 things Tepper would listen to. You cut the other out and only acknowledge the one. us here (that you complain about), the local media in the OP (that you just complained about), etc would all be % players in the big picture noise component. And when that gets loud enough guys like Tepper do listen. Because it is a ego/status thing. Guys like Tepper don't like to be national laughting stocks.
  4. I mean, the weatherman likely will tell you it's going to be hot and humid tommorrow if you choose to tune in to him. Tepper is only going to give a poo when it actually starts to matter to him. Noise and lack and sales/support are basically the only 2 things that he would listen to. But I guess everyone could just shut up and show up.
  5. very similiar to one of the greatest, if not the greatest, cameo content makers of all time. The Jimmy. I actually gained respect for Jimmy. I mean, horrible NFL QB. But a lot of the predraft character hits on him were clearly bogus. Being thrown out year one and failing that hard and then the team quickly moving on...he handled it all well. Always played his part the way it should of been played. Took the Ls on the chin. Said the right things. Did the Sam when Cam came to replace him.
  6. They picked up the 5th year option in April of 2021. That was before camp. and the local reporters largely documented Sam Darnold checking down all camp. They asked Rhule about why he was doing it so much. Then he checked down the entire half of the preseason game he showed in. Seems like they figured out real quick they couldn't ask much of Sam.
  7. I mean, Sam doing a random drill means nothing. He has phyiscal tools. Random drills don't ask you to play QB. That's where Sam's problem comes in.
  8. Still early. They have stayed in steady contact with the Browns. What if they end up acquiring Baker Mayfield for a pick cost that is in the ballpark of the Carson Wentz deal?
  9. I just wish Cam would call it a day. He should of after Rhule cut him when he got here. Cam is in the legacy hurting phase of his career IMO. I basically think the guys in the podcast said it without bluntly saying it. It’s over for Cam. His personality is too big for teams to take him on as the short yardage guy.
  10. I mean, I said Cam was done in the very first post and called him washed up repeatedly in this thread. How is that deflecting from Cam lol? Everything is about Rhule defense with you. Oh no, I didn’t show whatever the dude’s name was that replaced Brady enough respect. He was trash. Worse than Brady. So mentioning it was relevant to the fugged up scenario Cam walked into. It was part of it.
  11. they should of gone with Mac over Cam. Cam is in the pointless territory in terms of being a starter. There is no future or point in it. week 1? Cam is still better than some of the 28-32 tier of QBs. But it serves no purpose to play him over someone you could be developing to see what they have
  12. they kept talking about it though. He went into the fact the league sets the best 32 because what they need and want. So being a little better than Justin Fields doesn't matter. His ceiling and potential is higher than Cam's.... and they need to get to figuring it out.
  13. What are you arguing? Cam is done as a starter. I don't think he is good. That doesn't mean there isn't truth in what he says. It's the whole 2 things can be true factor of life. Matt Rhule gave Cam Newton 3 games as the guy and they weren't consecutive. The rest were all QB platoons. There was no actual time for Cam to learn and show what you wanted. And on to top of all that? The rest of the offense was going from Brady to whatever Rhule stooge they inserted. I mean, it was a bad spot. That can be true. Cam can also be washed. That can be true. One being true doesn't make the other false.
  14. He basically acknowledged Cam was techincally better today than some of the bottom 32. But the league doesn't carry about that. Nor does he. They have to develop guys with bigger ceilings and long term potential. Which is true. A full prep going into a season, Cam would increase your odds of winning over some of the young QBs. But developing and playing those guys outweighs whatever edge Cam would have snap 1 of week 1. Id want to start the rookie and young players over Cam.
  15. I have not listen to much. Skipped around. Bit I heard, you can tell he isn't ready to talk because he was to be employable. He did hint at the rest of folks upholding their end of the bargain is crucial to success but he wasn't going to get into all that.
  16. The Washington game was just a handful of cherry picked plays for Cam. That basically has a one week shelf life. Rhule also admitted the plan wasn't to keep him out there that long w/ such a limited set of plays but it was working. So his next start he didn't know the offense and their was tape on the hand picked Cam centric plays he could run without knowing the playbook, verbage, etc. I mean, Cam is done. But what he says makes sense. Rhule used him to stop the boos. Once the magic was off his return and folks got a lot at what Rhule was going to do with him it was ballgame.
  17. That's what allows him to be great. Double edged sword.
  18. Podcast is up. Should be a fun listen for later
  19. The Washington game was one of the better QB performances we saw last year. That game still had similar Cam returns juice that AZ had. that L was on Phil Snow and Jackson IMO. Waited way to late to put Gilmore on Scary Terry on passing downs.
  20. Probably all true. I still think he is done as a starter. Could be a great short yardage role player.
  21. But even under a cheap price? I’d rather have the 4th and 5th than rent Baker for a 7 win one and done type season. just play Sam and PJ and get great draft picks. If we don’t t see Corral….then we will just have to draft. Isn’t really a problem if you accidentally end up with 2 good cheap QBs
  22. Actually feeling a little optimistic today and giving him a grade bump
  23. I don’t think we are viewed that way though. I think we are viewed as desperate trying play like we aren’t. and I’m sort using Sam’s trade value as a measuring stick. While I think Baker could be had for cheaper given the bad blood I think some of stuff talked about just too low. If we could get him for a 7th? He’d already be here. The money discussion is also a pick debate IMO.
  24. Well everyone is healthy right now and has a plan. The cap hit is what it is. So why not just sit on the asset if Carolina wants to only give you a 7th. QBs go down every year. And he isn’t much a distraction off to the side not being part of the team. I’d take him for a 7th. I just think the cost will be much more. Think the deal would already been done if they were willing to go that low.
  25. well, it all depends on the cost. We traded a 2nd, 4th and 6th for Sam Darnold. I would be surprised if Carolina somehow lands a better QB for a 7th rounder. I still think Clev has leverage to just sit on Baker and wait for injuries vs giving him up for a 7th rounder.
