McAdoo is as meh as meh can get. He was the best option from the tier of OCs that no team actually wants. That's just the truth. Rhule deserves what he gets. Tepper too. It is what it is. Both should send a thank you letter to Urban and the Jags.

I would assume organizational consensus would likely be referring to the owner, GM, HC and possibly OC. So someone out of that group wants Baker. Someone doesn’t. Would assume the GM/HC have high odds of being on different pages…..otherwise I don’t think the narrative exists. If Rhule and Fitt wanted him it wouldn’t matter if McAdoo didn’t IMO. and I generally side with long term and high rep NFL reporters generally being right about things they cover. They might not have all the facts right but they got the gist down.

It’s a statement rooted in the history of the NFL and professional sports. Rhule is going to have to win more games. And if he doesn’t have to….it makes him an anomaly. and I made the comment because I don’t think Rhule is anti-rookie. I don’t think he is giddy about playing a 3rd round rookie QB this upcoming year. Because that would mean the season is about the development of a 3rd round rookie QB. I think Rhule will trot rookies out if he believes they are the best option in the short term.

I think the narrative on Rhule not wanting to play Corral isn’t about not liking rookies. More acknowledging Rhule most likely needs to win a fair amount of games to stay employed. Starting Corral IMO would require a HC to put development as the priority over winning now. So I think Rhule would rather get his hands on Baker or something like that. Let Corral be a slow project that is off to the side. Because he needs every win he can find a way to get this year.

Yeah, I think Rhule wants Baker. Think his hands are tied on what he can do to acquire him. But if he is cut we make a move. Just depends who else would make a run at him if a FA.

Matt Corral I think he sees the field this year. Not because Rhule wants to go that route…..but I just feel too many have forgotten where we were right before we brought Cam in. Sam will continue to be Sam. Rhule will continue to be Rhule. And if they are….BOA will react as they did last year after a couple weeks.

eh, tech and innovation are still going to continue. The leaps will continue to get bigger and faster IMO. Crashes are a pretty consistent thing that occur. I don't really consider the economy and market doing anything earth shattering. Even a massive recession wouldn't be a game changer. Would just a first time for some.

Based on Robbie’s season last year…..he needs the work. Especially given the fact Rhule puts him out for the lion share of the work

What else can you do. I'm not retiring for a long long time. And we have always sat on too much cash as we have always had to fight our risk adverse nature. Jimmy G Air yards per pass attempt and air yards per completion 2021- 29th and 13th 2020 -40th and 39th 2019 - 37th and 26th Seems to paint a pretty consistent picture of what checkdown Jimmy G does with the ball. He is Teddy B. People aren't mindlessly hating on Jimmy G. Just like they don't with Rhule/Tepper/Darnold. Just calling a spade a spade. We just have some posters that like to create mythical characters that don't exist. and if you go back in time when we signed Teddy B. There were people then that would argue he wasn't a checkdown QB. Because they didn't want him to be. So they refused to accept a pretty well established reality on the QB.

I wonder if part of their reluctancy is they are just afraid to cut him.....and the Steelers pick him up. And then Baker wrecks them in 2022 minus Watson. That's some short term hard egg on your face.

pretty predictable. Not a huge Baker fan but whatelse is he really suppose to do. They replaced him. No point risking injury or wasting your time w/ Clev at this point.

I mean, throw them all out week 1....and I'd concede Baker is better than every QB named going in to week 1. But that doesn't make Baker a good QB. Nor does playing him really serve a purpose outside of Rhule trying to squeak out the max possible wins. I'd rather Rhule play whatever combo of his handpicked Sam/PJ to start off the year and see what Matt Corral has. That will help us make decisions next offseason.
