Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements
CRA replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Politcians and the uber wealthy just straight up stealing money. It's kind of a thing. Both should be called out. That's what they do. I got no use for the couple folks acting like Tepper is being done wrong. Tepper intentionally came to steal money with the aid of politicans, intentionally got into a deal w/ a city that he knew would struggle, and appears to go about business in a very horrible and dysfuncitonal manner This whole scam for Tepper started at the state house with the Governor and folks in Columbia. Society holding people accountable would be acknowledging what Tepper was doing in the first place and shutting him down. Same for all the others like him. They are all one sided deals for the uber wealthy at the expense of taxpayers. -
Yeah, so the secondary and pass D coach thinks the talent should be where he is at. Ok. That’s not surprising. I’d want Chinn too. I bet the LB coach believes he could be an All Pro LB too. I like Chinn more down in the box. He looked special there. He didn’t last season.

What are some positives to come out of the Tepper era?
CRA replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Playoffs 4 times in a 5 year window and won the NFCS 3 straight years. it took a minute for them to hit their run but his teams weren’t like Rhule’s early on. Ron’s teams generally got better as the season went on. Ron was solid. Just wasn’t a homerun. -

We didn’t wait 7 years too late to fire Ron. Ron had a decent run. Then it came to a close. Like Foxy. -

I’d be happy to let David Tepper manage my retirement portfolio but just because you are good at something and made a poo ton of money at it….doesn’t mean you will be good at anything you just happen to choose to go do outside of your lane. Some might. But it isn’t some universal truth. I know a couple brilliant people with more money than I could dream of….who are complete idiots when it comes to so many other avenues outside of their lanes. As you noted….see Jordan. A GOAT in many aspects of life. You don’t need to search for a lesson in poor ownership when Tepper is your guy. I got no faith in Tepper in this world because everything he has touched has turned to poo and he has been a nonstop train wreck to date with all things Panthers. Comically bad.

probably. But voters won’t get it right. Because you have to include folks like Gov McMaster at the top of the list and at the state house too. -

I guess if you were a MLS fan that would be a pretty big win -

well, I would imagine Tepper would still be willing to totally screw RH/SC if this move presents that opportunity. I would suspect if it blows up...Tepper will wouldn't just walk away. He would sue them to get his money back. I think Tepper has the pockets to contiuniously put RH in horrific positions. -

It's not over. I think Tepper in the end has good odds of screwing the city, county, state. It's what big money does. Charlotte will be next. I know people like to think NC is somehow superior to idiotic SC. But I think this is a prelude to a bigger fleecing. -

I don't know. We barely know anything at this point. That's my point. So until we know more, both sides are at fault. We just don't know to what extent each side is to blame for. I got little use for the politican or the mega wealthy in this context. Those two dancing are always a problem. -

generally with gigantic clusterfugs of this scale, it's not one side 100% at fault. But view things from that lense if you want. I don't do that with this example here and I try not to do that elsehwere in life. It's how people get off the hook and repeat things. And also how people get overly blamed and overly punished. Not a fan of either. -

Nah, I can give heat to more than one person. That generally is what should happen in a large percentage of scenarios. You hold everyone responsible that deserves some blame and do it propotionately. Generally in our society we are content with having one person take the blame and be the poster child. Take the football team. We don't just suck because of Tepper or Rhule or Sam. We suck because a lot of people are responsible. Fire Rhule today and it isn't like you can pretend Tepper and Sam weren't players in the mess. -

We know a fraction of what has happened. A small fraction. And yet you want everyone to quickly deem him 100% not at fault for this giant clusterfug. Yeah, I'm not in a rush to make such a giant delcaration. and yeah, that last comment was the mega wealthy in general and how their dance with our governments. They cause tremendous problems in this country. And I they are problem just like the elected politicans. -

I'm not attempting to draw heat away from politicans. They need to get what they get. But I also feel like some are too dimissive of what Tepper's potential role might be in this mess. It takes two to tango. Tepper isn't just a billionaire. He is one of the richest men in America. A mega billionaire. It's guys like him that help create so many problems in this country. Tepper knew and knows what he is doing. But rightfully blasting politicans doesn't mean you need to defend Tepper in the process. He is the same type guy that our society needs to hold accountable IMO. -
I look at Sam Darnold and I look at PJ Walker....and if you didn't know how they arrived into the NFL and where strictly viewed as two dudes who play QB.....I'd say they are the same tier QB. Different pros and cons but same tier. and yeah, Ben is just saying what Rhule wants. And clearly they have already discussed Sam is the guy as of right now. My preference is simply they stop with the Sam BS. He isn't very good. And based on Rhule and even Sam himself in that van interview.....reality seems to be something that is missing at BOA. lol Sam saying he has proven he can be a very good QB. We have a HC and a QB who are utterly clueless. I got no problem with whacky confidence. For 3rd string to think he can be an All Pro. I'm cool with the mindset but not fake realities. Sam has sucked. He hasn't proven he can play at a high level. And this charade he should he is a default starter at this point? ....... is just old.

I don't disagree with that. I think RH will look very bad in the end. Maybe the county and state too. I just don't think Tepper is in a position where he should automatically be excused from any fault at this moment. That's really my only stance here. The whole thing is too big of a mess for me to think it is all RH (given the county and state where allies to them). Tepper has gone dark too for some time. More so than anyone else. They generally have refused to answer legit questions too. -

I mean, the city manager and mayor were the ones making the claim. They would be the people you look to hear from on such. What better sources would you look for on the RH position? They made the claims when Tepper paused it and went dark. Things got quiet again until today. I would assume in the coming days, weeks, months we will here more from different people. Again, the hope a deal gets completed is going to prevent a lot of things from being said. It would sabotage things. And they probably were flirting with that during that window after the pause. Which I think was addressed publically too that it wasn't smart at the time to be doing such. -

that's my gut feeling. He saw a window to tank it and did. Why do you need a training camp facility out of state. Almost zero NFL teams travel for training camp. Carolina was always abnormal in doing that. Tepper probably hates coming to Charlotte enough as is. Why go to RH. A newb and bad owner made the initial deal too quick. The more he sat and watched time go by he realized it was dumb from a Carolina Panthers stand point. We went to Wofford because that was Jerry's place. No reason to be traveling for training camp. Players and coaches hate it. The org hates. Fans like it. Pending you live close by. -
I mean, he is in a bad spot and can only say and do so much But to be honest, I would like the Sam BS to end. I'd rather him say some BS about every spot will be competed for. Best man plays. I don't think Sam has earned default starter status at this point in the nightmare.

Hard to be high on Darnold and then saying senslesss turnovers must end. I mean that is Sam's entire college and professional career. He is the posterchild. But Ben is just doing what he has to do. He stuck with Sam so what can you do.

I mean, they could make sense. Bonds don't just appear out of thin air. You have to supply the needed info for them to be issued. I'm not looking to 100% defend RH. I think we all know they were over their skis from the jump. Tepper included knew that. I'm just not sure Tepper didn't add to the problem.
